Works, but could be better January 8, 2008 fixit (Plano, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm used to nonstick, so cleaning will never be as easy as it once was. That said, this does clean up pretty well in the dishwasher, and if it doesn't, some Barkeepers Friend, presoaking, and a sponge do the trick. One disappointment is that the rivets to the handles aren't stainless, so they discolored very quickly. Not ugly, but I expect better from Calphalon.
Good Pan , but... December 2, 2007 Babzilla (Los Angeles, CA) We got this to replace our 12" Calphalon non-stick. While the rim is 12", the actual cooking area is 10" (the sides taper in). Needless to say, the pan was a little smaller than I expected. In addition, because it doesn't have a long handle I'm finding it difficult to shimmy the pan like my old one. They do have a 12" pan with the long handle, but it was 5 times as much. Clean up is pretty easy (although not as easy as nonstick) with some spotting/staining (use bar keepers friend and it'll look like new!) and they seem a little hotter so be careful if you're used to nonstick cooking. So, for what it is, it is a good pan. Make sure you've got pot holders ready.
I roasted a 20 lb turkey in it. November 23, 2007 Bonne Maman 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pan came through for me yesterday. It was the only thing in the house roomy enough to accommodate a 20 lb turkey. Surprisingly, it was deep enough so that the juices from the turkey did not spill over the pan but the shallowness of the pan meant that more of the skin was exposed and crisped.
In CONSTANT use at my house September 22, 2007 A. Nolte (Seattle, WA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I looked long and hard for a pan this perfect. I use it for everything: stir fry, saute, sensational skillet meals. It is the perfect size for most any four-serving recipe. When I first got it, I thought it looked too big, but once I started using it, I found that it was just right. Four chicken breasts or pork chops fit comfortably in this pan. I love it and can't imagine what I would do without it.
It's all True! September 20, 2007 Michelle Mathiot (New Bern, NC) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love this pan. Everything everyone says good about it is right on the money. It's so handy. I love the little handles, because they don't get in the way. I have another large skillet that I hate, because I'm always turning the handle this way and that to get it out of the way. I often have all four burners going. I cook at least two meals a day for a family of 6. This pan is big enough to handle a nice stir fry. I did a beautiful risotto the other day. I cooked salmon and it didn't stick a bit. It's easy to clean and looks nice enough to put on the table. The handles get a little warm, not too hot though. It's priced right too. Grab it!
