The Best Convection/Toaster I Could Find August 8, 2008 TedO (Colorado USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Since age 11, when I began working in the kitchen of my parents' steakhouse as an aspiring chef wannabe, I have been a big "fan" of convection cooking and have since owned several convection toaster ovens. When I was ready to buy a new one in early 2008, I did a fair amount of research and the Cuisinart BRK-200 emerged as the clear winner. So far, it is the best convection/toaster I've ever used. It costs more than most others but the quality and value is very good. It is the only oven I've found with all the features I want, especially: interior light, convection + toasting, stainless steel exterior, and large enough inside for a 12" pizza or large chicken. After using this oven for several months, I am very happy with my purchase. PRO: -Quiet fan during convection cooking -Internal Light -Simple Controls, easy & convenient to use overall -Stable & consistent temperature, i.e. maintains set temperature well -Looks good on the counter top -Uses far less power than conventional oven -Roomy interior -Comes with a pizza stone! -Overall quality and value for the price is good -Easily delivers excellent cooking results CON: -Exterior gets very hot (but all counter top ovens have this problem) -Silk screen printing on toast "START" button rubbed off when new -No indication of when set temperature is reached -Made in Communist China NEUTRAL: -Ease of cleaning, no better or worse than others -Better as an oven than a toaster due to slightly uneven toasting -Rotisserie is included but is not a feature most people want or need

"Deluxe Countertop Oven" it is not... July 11, 2008 Captian Kloss (Vermont) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
quoted from Cuisinart's website description of this toaster oven. I had it for only 2 days so far, so the review cannot be complete, but... firstly: apperance, it's stainless steel ok, but unfortunately, it's made of the thinnest stamped material possible, from a close up it just looks cheap. Grayish plastic is used to fill in the places between body and handles and knobs. Speaking of handles, they protrude for about an inch and a half from each side, making it take much more space on a counter top than necessary, and they're not removable. But it needs handles, as the sides and top get EXTREMLY hot when doing anything, top gets to over 220F. Rotisserie mechanism is cheap, after 2 uses it must have already broke a tooth on the wheel or whatever turning mechanism it employs, as it stands still for a quarter of a turn, only to suddenly drop for a whole quarter, half a turn later. No timer, no notification when set temperature is reached... other than that it's great: it makes good toasts but so does $30 toaster.
Exactly what we wanted July 10, 2008 Mark A. Sifrit (Colorado Springs) The Cuisinart Toaster Oven fit exactly want we were looking for. It augments are microwave for reheating food, as many types of food just aren't well suited for the microwave, but you don't want to heat up the oven for a small item reheat. The toaster oven is the perfect solution, and this on from Cuisinart has worked wonderfully for us. It heats up quickly, the temperature is easily controlled, the convection setting works great, and the brick gives you options for the way you reheat or cook. It's one of the more expensive toaster ovens, but it is rich in features and does exactly what it promises.
perfect little oven July 3, 2008 K. Boulay Love, love this oven. I baked a pie, made side dishes, main meals, absolutely perfect. cooks evenly and with the convection saves you about 5 min. This is a good quality oven, and it looks great with all my stainless steel appliances.
