Fantastic for its price! May 5, 2008 Jun Pang (Salt Lake City, UT) We bought it on sale. Only drawback is that the surface is hot when it is working. Be cautious if you have kids. Other than that, great product.
DeLonghi Convection Oven - AD699S - Electronic controls April 26, 2008 Dragon Fur (Northern California, USA) I purchased my first Delonghi Convection oven 6 slice size when the best and only option was the manual control set knobs . Great little oven. Bought the next model AD699 when it became available - liked it even better with the electronic controls and auto shut-off (timed bake). With a bit of practice, one can cook almost anything to perfection with this oven. Delonghi (apparently) no longer makes this model (a real shame). I was thrilled to find Amazon sells this wonderful little oven as "refurbished". Though one of the boxes did sustain damage in transit (duly noted by the delivery man), the oven works as expected and there does not seem to be any damage (cosmetic or otherwise). Perfect (skinless, boneless) chicken breasts - Remove the oven tray from the oven and cover it with non-stick foil. - Season food as desired (suggest Mrs. Dash Chipotle and a bit of garlic) - Place food on the tray and put tray in the (cold) oven - SELECT: Fan Bake, 350 degrees default , Timer - time to 25 minutes - Press Start . - Make a salad, have a glass of your favorite beverage, and set the table. Magic. NOTE: The time will immediately go to 24 min. when the oven starts - no worries - it actually takes no more than 24 minutes for the chicken. Bonus! These instructions can also be used for oven baked french fries (frozen), great pork tenderloin (reduce time if loin is small), and very nice roasted vegies (potatoes, onions, carrots, asparagus). This oven makes passable toast, very good pseudo grilled sandwiches, great potatoes, small roasts, casseroles, and even Brussels sprouts cooked in a manner that even spouts haters will enjoy. The oven is simple to use, counter space friendly, and it s simple clean lines are compatible with many kitchen decors. Final Words: Amazing oven - and the refurbished price makes this oven an absolute best value .
A great value and an awesome oven. I hope it holds up! April 24, 2008 Steven S. Daniel Sr. (Houston, TX) I bought this oven for $29.99 plus free shipping, which is an incredible deal, IMO. The oven I received looked to be brand new, and the "new smell" that came out when I first used it would tend to confirm this. The oven was cosmetically damaged - there was a small dent on the back side which did not affect looks or functionality - that's why I'm only giving it only four stars. The oven works flawlessly - it toasts bread in a flash, the defrost feature is useful, and the convection oven cooks items in about 2/3 the time of a regular oven. The oven light is also a nice feature, and I also like the fact that it beeps to tell you when it reaches temperature. I have read the other reviews, and I'm a little worried about the long-term reliability - so far so good. But hey, for $30, I really can't go wrong.
powerful little oven April 21, 2008 Zelron (US) The oven is very spacious inside, can fit a small chicken. The double deck inside allows me to toast almost 12 slice at a time. It also comes with a bunch of accessories like 2 cookie sheets and trays etc. There is also a tray at the bottom to catch all the spillage and crumbs making it easier to clean. As for performance, it works great. The convection feature makes baking time a lot faster. The only drawback is you have to figure out how much baking time to reduce by or you will over bake.
Dead and deader April 21, 2008 Maurice Naragon (So. Cal.) Ordered this as a refurbished item, and it came DOA. So, it died from the factory, they took it back, they re-certified it, and it was DOA when they shipped it out again. Doesn't say much for the product. Fortunately, Amazon's return policy is great, so it was handled. But I would think twice about spending money on one of these.
