Good coffee if you can get the basket back in to make it April 10, 2007 J. Steinberg (Greenwich, CT) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This coffee maker is a frustrating piece of high priced junk. It has a basket that is to be removed to dump your filter, but god help you if you do. It is nearly impossible to get the basket back IN to the coffeemaker. You'll be trying for 24 and then give up in disgust. I own it..I know. Buy something else.
Makes great coffee, if you can get to the basket. March 11, 2007 Sandy (Auburn, Al) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Initially, I loved this coffee maker, it was so easy to use. After a few months of using it, I find the swing-open unit, that holds the grinds basket, gets stuck after you close it. It's nearly impossible to open it again. After I spent several minutes struggling with it, my husband said, "Oh, I thought it was just me." The coffee pours too fast out of the pot, something that took several times to get use to. It makes great coffee, but I would not buy this maker again.
Delicious Java March 8, 2007 Michael Holba (St. Peters, Mo) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Many refer to me as somewhat of "coffee snob". I'm always searching for that great cup of java. This is the second DeLonghi coffee pot I've owned and makes an incredible cup of coffee. Definately brews a great tasting treat!
This coffeemaker is what it is, and it's a bargain. January 9, 2007 Dianne Davis (Houston) This coffeemaker is, first and last, a bargain. For the person who drinks two cups or less a day, this is a dependable coffeemaker that won't take up the space of a family-sized coffeemaker. There are a couple of design flaws, but nothing that affects the qualify of the coffee. (The handle forces your hand too near the top of the carafe, exposing your bare hand to hot steam while pouring; and the coffee is a bit too hot after sitting in the carafe - so beware if you let it sit awhile before drinking.) I also found that after 3 months of daily use the coffee failed to drain from the basket. To eliminate that problem I run vinegar through the coffeemaker once a month (be sure to follow up with a plain water cycle). BUT, these are minor problems that you could find in a $200 coffeemaker. All in all, it's not a bad buy if you are specifically looking for a small coffeemaker.
Italian styling doesn't matter in the end November 21, 2006 R. Platt 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Previous reviewers were right: the plastic smell is intense and does not go away. Too bad.
