Brilliant Espresso Maker June 4, 2008 bogometer (Dallas, Texas) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have the previous model number (the 3200) which is nearly identical to this one. I bought it from Amazon more than a year ago and it performs flawlessly. Simply the best bang for the buck in an espresso maker (and I have owned one that cost more and did not perform nearly as well). You can't go wrong with this one.
Espresso Machine March 28, 2008 Antonio Petruccelli (Montreal) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
makes very good coffee, easy to use. however it leaks water from day 1. Need to bring it for service already. not happy about that. Leak from inside. I am in Canada so they are not upholding the warranty. Would not buy it again on Amazon.
Outstanding Coffee Maker March 3, 2008 Eric Thrimble (MA, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have owned 3 automatic coffee makers now; this is way the best. I was hesitant to buy DeLonghi - I had the impression from Europe that it's a lower mid-market brand, but the price was right and the reviews were good. I have had it now for 18 months - it makes great coffee, is easy to clean, is flexible with regard to strength/length etc. and has been 100% reliable. Several friends have bought one after seeing ours; I recommend it unreservedly.
Cheap looking February 29, 2008 Gary X (New Jersey) 7 out of 22 found this review helpful
I almost bought this machine online but made a wise decision to see it first hand in a store. I couldn't have been more disappointed by its appearance. The machine looks nothing like its picture on closer inspection. The shiny stainless steel-looking parts in the photo are nothing more than plastic covered in cheap-looking chrome foil. The only real metal part outside is the drip tray cover. The buttons and knobs are wobbly. From the looks of it this is a cheaply-made machine and I just don't have the confidence that it's going to last beyond its short 1-yr warranty period. If you care about how a $800 gadget looks on your countertop, this is not one to own.
Machine broke after 4 weeks - DeLonghi customer service sucks February 11, 2008 Christiane Hoeninger (Tampa, FL, USA) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Apart from breaking after 4 weeks this is a great espresso machine, we loved it. Easy to operate, makes great coffee and espresso. Maybe we had bad luck but after 4 weeks of use one of the coffee brewing buttons broke and then the on/off button wouldn't work anymore. The machine was dead. It seems that the electronic behind the buttons is not very robust. I sent an email to the DeLonghi customer service but never got any reply. Another downside: The machine asks for descaling every 2 weeks. This gets a little expensive considering that the recommended decalcifier for one time descaling is about $6. I returned the machine to Amazon. They are always great with return. So fast, so easy. They are my absolute favorite online order merchant.
