Good Heater but too noisy January 26, 2008 S. Chen (Palisades Park, NJ United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is a great heater, given it's size I think it will heat up a pretty big area. I used it only one night and it kept us warm but it was just too noisy. It made me jump a couple of times when it turn on automatically at night. I also don't like how I need to turn the knobs for it's settings... I would recommend it if don't mind the noise too much....
Nice heater - great value January 18, 2008 Rambo 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this heater during the Friday deal. For that price this heater is great value and a real bargain. It seems well made and has decent features. I have used it both in the tower and horizontal configuration and it provides heat quickly - feels real nice when you enter a freezing room. I am ordering a second one since we were taking it all over the house. The controls are easy to use once you get used to it. I had to refer to the manual a couple of times to understand what the various symbols on the dial meant - but it was no big deal.
OK heater January 18, 2008 Adam M. Greminger 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
good heater ...NOT UL certified.(this is big in my opinion almost returned it)... not for living space ... in an area where the noise from the fan wont bother you... also the cord/plug gets warm instructions says its normal but ive used other heaters and that doesnt happen. noise from fan gets worse if you lay it down on its side... also this is all on hardwood floors so if you have carpet it may reduce the sound.
a very decent heater January 14, 2008 Ming K. Chu (Brooklyn, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a very decent header. The housing is big relative to the heating element. I got this unit at a very good price because it was featured in a Friday sale. The only complaint is the control; it is not intuitive or it is unnecessarily complicated. Normally, one would not need to consult the manual to understand the control for a simple heater.
VERY nice heater December 27, 2007 SAM (Deep South) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I was almost convinced not to buy this, buy the other amazon reviews. My own experience differs greatly. I bought this during the Friday special for $30 and free shipping. The heater is large, so make sure you note the heightxwidthxdepth numbers. This isn't a cheap small heater like the 2 dozen at walmart. The heater is much better than others (cheap walmart type) I've used in the past. The ONLY annoying thing was the timer that made a noticeable time-bomb type of sound as it counted down. HOWEVER, after close examination I noticed that there is a setting that doesn't use the timer, that also rids the user of that annoying tick. So, that detractor is gone. Another reviewer noted that it was loud and shaky on hardwood. I disagree 100%. I'm using it on hardwood, and get no vibrations at all. The only thing I hear is the white noise of the heater working. And its no louder or quieter than what I expect from any portable heater.
