Best Thing in Our Kitchen January 23, 2008 Bella (Houston, TX) We have this at home, and we love it, and everyone who visits us wants one. It grinds, tamps, brews and self-cleans in less than a minute, and you can make individual coffee drinks for each person, giving one guest a regular espresso and the next guest a decaf cappuccino, etc. It's perfect for entertaining.
Disappointment at a high price January 7, 2008 James J. Stark (Virginia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Money was no object when I bought this machine. It is beautiful. However, it failed to live up to its hype. Too much engineering, too little quality coffee. The self-cleaning mechanism would kick in when I was expecting coffee, the coffee itself was inconsistent in strength and the steamer could not produce froth no matter how I tweaked it. Talking to tech support at Capresso did not help. I wound up returning it to Amazon.
Excellent Product and Service December 11, 2007 Brock Wayne Ketcher 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My first Jura was the F7. I bought it off of Ebay(new) and couldn't have been happier. I was so thrilled with it, that I bought another (F9) and gave my mom the F7 because it was such an awesome machine. It is really remarkable how the machine works. It took me a good 15+ cups to figure out how to make the coffee the way I like it. There are so many options on this machine that effect the taste: Grind, water temp, quantity of beans, quantity of water, etc.... In reference to the service I am amazed. When I received my new F9, I immediately had problems with a couple of the buttons. I called the service center and was on hold for 6-8 minutes. After about a 2 minute conversation with the representative they said that she would just send out a new machine and when I get it to send my old machine back in the box. They paid all postage. No credit card, nothing. I've never heard of such a service before. Absolutely Excellent. I couldn't be happier. It is a great machine that makes very good coffee and looks really nice on the kitchen counter. I love my Jura! As a matter of fact, I believe I am going to go and make myself a decaf latte right down.
Fantastic coffee machine November 7, 2007 Randy P. (Long Beach, California USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although the one I ordered from Amazon was DOA, the manufacturer immediately sent out a new replacement unit without even asking me for a credit card for security. The new unit works perfectly and makes fantastic crema coffee. I also own an Incanto Serius and I find the Jura-Capresso unit to be superior. It's also extremely easy to clean, and does not require decalcification if you use the water filter. My only complaints would be: * The dispenser is tall enough for a large coffee mug, but it's almost impossible to get a travel mug in there; * The water and bean compartments are smaller than I'd like -- they need to be refilled frequently. But this is offset by the relatively small size of the unit. If not for those small issues, I'd rate the unit five stars, and their tech support is great, too!
Excellent product, care and feeding needed March 7, 2007 J. Fouche (Calabasas, CA USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have owned this for about 9 months and gotten nearly 1000 uses out of it (it counts for you). It can equal most coffeehouse product you are likely to find, but as others point out, it is far short of what an enthusiast can create from more traditional equipment. You may also find the crema coffee settings to be something of an acquired taste (but you can make an Americano in just one more step, which is always great). Also, we went through a brief episode in which it would refuse to brew anything (as if it didn't have the power to punch the water through the puck of coffee). I remedied this with a descaling cycle as well as wiping out the parts above the removable tray thoroughly. (I use filtered water in the machine, but the descaling seems to be a more serious cleaning than the normal automatic cleaning.) Given this, I would recommend keeping large stock of cleaning supplies and at least doing the normal cleaning every couple of weeks, rather than awaiting the machine's automated recommendation to clean. My understanding is that there are no dirt sensors driving these messages. It is just a function of the amount of use. Overall, I would buy this again for certain, and if/when it dies I will be looking at one of its more expensive siblings, not at other brands.
