No CREMA!! July 22, 2008 Y. Muthafar This is an excellent espresso maker, the milk frother is also great but if you're used to CAFE` espresso this will come close but not perfect for a very simple reason, you can't get the crema that steam machines produce. CREMA is the layer that forms on top of the cup...looks and smells wonderfull. I've tried using ground espresso like ILLY and nothing, I've also used ground starbucks and still nothing,I thought because it was already ground the oils must have dried up so....I grounded my own beans just before using the pot and while it was a little better but still I couldn't get the effect that the steam machines produce. I've also tried to preheat the water using an electric kettle and it didn't do anything. This is the only problem with this pot otherwise it's great I've had it for three months now and I use it everyday, usually I fill the filter with coffee but put in half the amount of water to make it really strong and it works really well, the milk frother works really well if you use full cream milk and remember not to boil it just heat it through. Overall highly recommended
Hey, did I just make a cappuccino!? June 10, 2008 C. B. Raymond (Long Island, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm no coffee guru (I actually prefer tea), and the thought of drinking a coffee black is about as appealing to me as chewing on the used grounds. However, my wife and I lived in Europe for three years and I developed a taste for cappuccino--and just for the record, nobody does cappuccino like the Italians! Now that we're back in the States, I get the occasional thirst for a coffee drink that I usually slake at Starbucks or the like. However, they are over-priced and the quality varies from passable to unpalatable, depending on which disinterested teenaged employee is making your coffee that day. On a whim I purchased this set, as it generally received good reviews and the price was right. Am I glad I did--this thing works great, and consistently makes a cappuccino that is superior to what I get at most local coffee shops. In fifteen minutes, from start to finish, I can make two tasty cappuccinos. As I stated earlier, I am no coffee expert and certainly not a whiz in the kitchen, but this is simple to use (read the helpful tips in some of the other reviews), makes a great cappuccino, and clean-up is quick and easy. Who needs a $300 espresso machine? I give this four-and-a-half stars and would not hesitate to recommend it to any coffee-lover. A half-star penalty is assessed for the delicate non-stick surface in the milk frother--it scratches easily, so treat it with care (I now use only wooden spoons when stirring the milk as it heats up).

Product is just what was described and the previous ratings were just as actual. The latte set is the best I have used.
Happy Espresso Convert April 28, 2008 gia (NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a picky coffee drinker, I am thankful to have found this stovetop espresso pot and milk frother. With good beans ground finely - my morning cappuccino now puts Starbucks to shame. After introducing this better way of making coffee to my friends, I'm now obligated to get another set as a birthday gift.
Safety / Pressure valve - Please help!!! April 23, 2008 Curious George I have owned this little baby for about 2 weeks now and just love it! A quick question about safety / pressure valve on Moka Express. I was told that you should check the valve regularly, but I am a bit confused as to how to "check" it. Should I unscrew the valve, see if there is any clog inside, if there is, clean it, then screw it back? PLEASE let me know, cause I really don't want mine to explode on my stove top! Thanks so much! :)
