The product is as good as I hoped it would be. I am very happy with it.
Great slicer for home use August 26, 2004 G. Jackson (Rochester, NY) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I'm not sure why all the other folks gave this food slicer a poor review. I sliced ham for sandwiches and roast for beef jerky and it works flawlessly. Yes this is not a comercial unit however for home use it works well. You do not need to press the food on to the blade so hard that it stops running. The tilt of the feed tray does this for you. The 10 minute run time should be plenty for most jobs so I don't see this as a problem, however that is what kept me at 4 stars for this slicer.
does not do the job January 28, 2003 Craig Hazell (Ontario Canada) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I tried to slice both a roast and a proscuitto into thin slices and was unable to do either properly. When the meat passed the leading edge of the blade it slowed the motor down signifigantly by pressing on the full surface of the blade. I could not get one full slice out of that machine. I will try to return it and look for a better one to buy. It is useless for the purpose I bought it for.
a good machine for the home December 10, 2002 Richard F. (everett, Wa.) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a great food slicer for the home kitchen, (dont compare apples with oranges, this isnt a commercial slicer, but it wasnt advertised as one either) it works great for anything from bacon to tomatos. It has a powerfull motor and a very sharp blade with infinite thinkness adjustments up to a 1/2", easy to clean and very well built. If you want a good slicer for home use you'll be happy with a waring food slicer.
Light intermittent household use at best. June 7, 2002 Thomas E. Thorsen (Newfoundland, PA United States) 29 out of 30 found this review helpful
Stainless-steel and die-cast aluminum construction promises performance, but the undersized electric motor limits this slicer to very light intermittent household use. The Waring FS800 Pro Electric Food Slicer seems to have a barely adequate motor when brand new with a new sharp blade. Just think how it will perform when the blade gets a little dull. This is definitely not a professional quality food slicer, it is only a light intermittent duty slicer at best.
