5 out of 5 stars Nice Cutting Board   June 26, 2005

I bought this as a replacement for a larger wood board and was concerned when it arrived that it might be too small. Actually this is the perfect size board for chopping veggies and then adding them to soup, stew, whatever. My other board was too large and I always had to use a scraper to get the ingredients from the board into the pot. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the sticky decal comes off if you soak the glue in oil. I soaked mine in olive oil (I just grabbed the nearest thing) and it came off easily and completely. This board is also reversible, which is nice if you need to avoid mixing the taste of something, but don't want to hassle with cleaning it. Just flip it over real quick and cut your next item. It goes in the dishwasher without a hitch (unlike my wood boards.) It also doesn't slip on your countertop. All in all this has become my favorite cutting board.

3 out of 5 stars Stylish product, less than perfect   June 12, 2005

While I love the stylish look in my green kitchen, this "Poly-Board" is not anywhere near as durable as the acrylic one I replaced after 10 years. I used that so long and so hard the pebbles wore off, and it was smooth. It does not slip (as my acrylic did when it lost it's "feet"), but I've had it for 3 months and it's covered with knife slices, which have stained (mildly), on both sides. Polyboard is too soft, and damages easily. Size is perfect, don't get the smaller one, but don't use sharp knives if you want to keep it as lovely as the day you bought it. One-year replacement warranty sounds good, limited Lifetime is questionable - but I haven't tried either, so I can't speak for Kitchenaid. They are a first class company, with quality products.
2 Stars because of the knife cuts, with consequenting stains.
4 Stars for looks and non-slippage.
I had no adhesive problems - they must have fixed that after the complaints.

4 out of 5 stars glued label   May 8, 2005

Forget the oil to remove this glue. GooGone works much better.
Why do manufacturers insist on putting on these hard-to-remove labels, or maybe the glue in China is much better!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars I Love It!   March 19, 2005

I recently bought this cutting board and it is just perfect. The size is big enought to get even melons cut up and handle large tasks. It doesn't slip at all because of the colored edges that hold it in place. Also easy to clean, just put it in the dishwasher or wash with soap and water. I just got rid of a wooden board that I could not get the onion smell out of but no problem with that here. Also, they have now decided to tape the labels on so no problem with any glue.

5 out of 5 stars Glue is annoying, but the board is fine.   December 31, 2004

The non-slip cutting board gets the job done; it really doesn't slip, at least not on our granite countertop. To take the glue off the cutting board, soak the glue spots in vegetable oil a few times. It does come off eventually.
