No Problems Yet... April 10, 2008 Kiersten's Grandma (Sheboygan, WI United States) We've had this toaster for about one month now.We almost did not buy it because of all the poor reviews. So far we have not encountered any problems. We have toasted bread,English muffins, bagels and frozen waffles with great results. We use the #4 setting. We like that it has 4 slots and the stay cool exterior which is also very easy to keep clean.I noticed some of the reviews were written several years ago so maybe it has been improved since than.
Beware!! A toaster that doesn't know how to toast! April 2, 2008 S. Pinello (Colorado) I spent over 2 weeks reading reviews about toasters after our old one got lost in the move. Finally I realized how ridiculous it was too spend so much time reading reviews about other peoples experiences with toasters that I just bought this mid-range one. This is the most frustrating toaster! Bagels are sometimes alright. Toaster Strudels come out burnt on the outside and frozen on the inside. Actual bread toast is burnt on one side and barely toasted on the other. It doesn't matter what the setting is. I have gotten different results each time, no matter the setting. Either burnt or not even toasted or a combination of both. Arrgh! Madness. I mean, it is a toaster and it can not toast. I am starting to think that the movers stole our old toaster because none of the new ones being manufactured actually know how to toast. The only advice I have is to keep your $50 and buy a cheap-o toaster... even if the cheap-o doesn't work, at least it would be a better deal. I have given up on toast.
Great for the price March 20, 2008 Michael Fourdraine (Pocatello, ID) We got this toaster to replace an aging Kenwood 4 slice toaster. Here are the low-downs. First the Bad. The only annoying thing is the chemical smell the toaster gives off when you are breaking it in. We put it outside and let it run 5 or 6 times. After that the chemical smell wasn't there when we toasted anymore. Now the good. It toasts well. Dosen't matter what it is... Bagle, english muffin, wonderbread, white, wheat, etc.... All of it comes out evenly toasted and the controls allow you to toast to your own taste. My wife like darker toast (setting 3 or 4), I like lighter toast, Setting 2/3). We each have out own side of the toaster for toast in the morning with it's own specific settings. It's nice! It's small, fast, and good value for the money. All in all I love this toaster... just need to break it in in a well ventilated area first. This QA issue should be fixed by Cuisinart since it would be easily addressed. If it weren't for that I would have given it 5 stars.
Cuisinart let me down March 13, 2008 Lorraine Hammons (Itasca, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I liked the style and the brand name when I purchased this last year. It toasted unevenly since the beginning, but I could live with that. Now the lever that pushes the bread down will not work (it won't stay down) I now have to purchase another and will switch to another brand. I just discovered these reviews a few months ago, so maybe I can be more informed when I buy another toaster.
One Side Toaster February 17, 2008 S. Snyder (Arvada, CO USA) This toaster toasts unevenly. In a couple slots the toast doesn't even brown on one side. Unless you like bread that's toasted on only one side, don't buy this toaster.
