Black plastic, blade assembly cracked. Bad design December 31, 2007 vidd (USA) Black plastic, blade assembly cracked. Bad design. Looks good, blends good, crushes ice good, finally breaks for good. Spend your money on something different
Piece of junk October 3, 2007 Vicky (Bethesda MD) I was thoroughly disappointed with this blender, which labors to make a milkshake and cannot even puree a banana + a few frozen strawberries in fruit juice. Although it had been 8 months since purchased and I couldn't find the receipt, I took it back to Linens N Things and begged for a store credit which they were kind enough to provide. Definitely going for the Oster next!
blender June 27, 2007 Sarah Karls We love our blender. It's the second one we've bought this year, it was a gift. Thanks!
Best Blender January 10, 2007 Teresa Buckingham (West Babylon, New York United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My original blender was destroyed after my son dropped it on more than one occassion. Had to find a replacement. I loved the blender, but could not find it without the complete set, and I did not need a new set. I looked on Amazon and found the blender. No regrets. It matches the rest of the set I already own perfectly. This blender can cut up just about everything. The price and product were right so I brought it. Loving It.
Disappointed! June 30, 2005 L. C. Nievares (SB, CA) I received my blender/processor as a gift and I use it occasionally (especially for smoothies and mixed drinks). I was disappointed when the clutch assembly broke! I couldn't believe that Cuisinart doesn't have a durable piece sitting at the motor. I contacted Cuisinart and they said it's not possible to repair on your own--that brass piece needs to be removed by qualified personnel! I'm so glad I ran into these reviews! Anyhow, I compared my blender to my parents' (Oster brand), and they have a much durable design. I'll make sure I inspect any small appliance before I make a purchase! In this case, it was a gift so I can't complain. I'm going to purchase the clutch assembly as recommended by one of the viewers. The Cuisinart name doesn't always equal high quality.
