5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Bang for the buck   September 8, 2008
happy customer
Cuisinart DFP-14BCN 14-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless SteelAwesome machine, specifically chose for the oversized opening. The included chese blade is PHENOMINAL and very easy to clean. Unit is aesthetically pleasing and I much prefer the 2 buttons over the Viking turn knob. We are extremely pleased with this product--pricey but well worth the investment.

4 out of 5 stars There's such a thing as too much "safety" ...   August 27, 2008

The Cuisinart food processor is a wonderful tool -- I use it nearly every day, and it slices, chops, purees, and makes pizza dough to perfection. My only complaint is that in an effort to make the machine super-safe they've made it more awkward to use. An old model I had had a feed tube with a "pusher" that could be removed, making it quick and easy to add more vegetables, crackers, etc. The new model has the "pusher" permanently fixed to the feed tube, making it necessary to remove the entire cover in order to add more food. Does the company really think we're so careless that we can't be trusted with the removable pusher? The new version is slower and more awkward to use, and I wish they'd go back to the old system. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful, reliable machine and I'm happy to recommend it.

1 out of 5 stars 2 year life span   August 23, 2008

I share the same disappointment as other reviewers. I ran this unit once a week for 2 years and then it stopped working. The beefy looking hardware is not so durable. Unfortunately this product suffers from the same "China syndrome" that so many products seem to be afflicted with these days.

1 out of 5 stars not worth it   August 14, 2008

We had this for less than 2 years and finally took it out for some baking, and it doesn't even turn on anymore. All the parts are made in China, what do you expect? Not a high quality tool.

5 out of 5 stars Great Machine!   August 5, 2008
Marina Streznewski (Washington, DC USA)
My husband and I purchased this food processor to help us feed his gazpacho addiction :-), and we have been quite pleased with it. I am a very experienced cook, but my husband is not -- and this machine works for both of us. It is intuitive to use and reasonably easy to clean. The only quibble we have is that the enclosed DVD is a few years old, and uses an older model for demonstration. That was a bit confusing for a rookie like my husband. Overall, this was definitely worth the money.
