Another great KitchenAid product May 14, 2008 E. K. Willis (SoCal) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The title says it all. I have been a KitchenAid fan for a number of years. My industrial mixer is still going strong and I am sure that this food processor will deliver the same. The first thing that impressed me about this processor is it weight (it doesn't move around, even while kneading dough) and it is relatively quiet, considering the power of the motor. The three stacking bowls are handy and the citrus press makes a quick job of fresh OJ. All in all, this is a fine machine.
Great tool with a few niggles April 29, 2008 Nicholas Johnson (Miami, FL USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've been using this food processor for two and a half months now, and I'm very impressed. Mind you, its my first food processor so I might not know better, but it seems to tackle anything I can throw at it. On dry stuff like vegetables it will chop more than I can hold in my largest saute pan, so thats enough for me. Nuts chop pretty well, but not that great. Really wet things can be a problem because the fill line at which everything will leak out is about half-way up. Thats deceptive, especially for someone who hasn't used it before. More than once I've asked someone to mix something with it and they tried to fill it all the way up and we had a waterfall of cake batter, salad dressing (really thin stuff too) or whatever. Since I don't have a real mixer I've had to use this food processor for that duty too, and the mixing blade does a great job. Although I may still get a mixer, its not important. The egg beater attachment also works superbly. People raved for over a week about the lemon meringue pie I made with it. Besides the above listed problems with the mini bowl doing a so-so job of chopping nuts (and most anything else short of corn flakes) and the deceptive fill-line issue, I'd have one more problem. It didn't work one night and I couldn't figure out why. It seems the bowl has to be in perfect alignment with the top and the base, which is all well and good. But one day I did everything as normal and it just wouldn't turn on. I had to jam a fork into the safety switch on the bowl to finish dinner. I called KitchenAid and they were helpful. They gave a very specific way to put it together and it seems to work again. But all in all its become an essential tool in my repertoire. I've been able to tackle recipes that I would have otherwise disregarded and completed tasks in a few minutes that would have taken me an hour of manual chopping. Oh, BTW, this sucker is HEAVY!
Exceptional looks and operates great! January 30, 2008 Just Gary (San Antonio, TX) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
There are two reasons to buy a KichenAid. They last a long time and they add a touch of quality to the kitchen. With the second in mind, I bought this brushed nickel version since my kitchen faucets and draw handles are brushed nickel. This piece fit right in and looks great on the counter. Nothing you need to store away, this adds to the decor (along with teh KitchenAid brushed nickel blender and the Kitchen Aid brushed nickel mixer). But, it also works very well. I did not buy these just to look good. I wanted good quality, long-lasting items and this appears to be it. I love using the food processor. It makes the work a bit easier and the wide-mouth gives you plenty of choices. The capacity is amazing at 12-cups and the washable parts easily fit in the dishwasher. It is sturdy (slightly heavy) and does everything I ask. They should list the attachments in the features as I bought a separate juicer attachment, which did not fit, and I found a similiar attachment in the box. So, don't but any attachments until you have seen what you get.
happy with my purchase January 23, 2008 Cynthia M. Wood (Durango, CO) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I like the looks of my new processor and the way the extra pieces are contained. I have not used all the features yet, but what I have used so far has been good. I have struggled a bit with figuring out the right blades for what job and which bowl but it will come with practice. It looks very professional in my kitchen!
PERFECT purchase January 20, 2008 R. B. Normoyle (West Hollywood, CA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a TOP-OF-THE-LINE product.... beautiful to look at, unlike so many other processors.... ease of use and cleaning is unbelievable and it slices, grates, chops, and dices in a matter of split-seconds. It is remarkable quiet for a food processor, very sturdy, and easy to use. I whole-heartedly and readily recommend this to anyone who loves to cook..... it makes life so much easier.
