What makes this juicer better February 3, 2007 Ann H. Mccormick 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This Omega juicer is made of lighter material than the larger ones, but it's designed wonderfully. The basket is slanted and open, so you can rinse it out faster than the older juicer style with a "basket" that's harder to reach in and place a filter or dig out the fiber. This one throws the fiber out the back into a container that comes with it, juices really well, is compact in a small kitchen, and cleans up so much more easily than my older Omega juicer. It's wonderful, especially for the price.
Average juicer, hard to reassemble November 10, 2006 T. Nguyen (Los Angeles, CA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
In general, good yield if you used fruits such as Apple to make juice. Average yield for vegetable juice such as carrot. Somewhat hard to clean, juice & pulp can get in some crevices. Easy to disassemble but harder to reassemble, the blade needs to be fitted carefully on the nut, if it is not all the way down and completely flush, it will cut & damage the bottom of the cover & the plunger. Small feeding chute, you have to cut fruits into smaller pieces. Not diswasher safe, can warp the plastic parts. I found this out the hard way, after I put it in the diswasher, the plunger swelled up and no longer fit in the chute due to the high heat of my diswasher. Fortunately, Omega send a replacement plunger.
Great First Juicer October 4, 2006 E. Campisi (Baldwin, NY United States) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I did SO much research on the Internet before finding that there are 2 small juicers available, and that both get good reviews. One is this one and the other is the L'equip mini. This model is newer so it didn't have as many reviews, so I couldn't decide. I called up one of the Internet sites and asked which they suggested. They said that Omega has a great reputation and stands by their products better than the other company. If you read the reviews of the L'equip 221 you'll see that that company is horrible if you have a problem with your juicer. I just got the juicer today. You can get free shipping, so shop around. Pros: QUIET (much quieter than my blender), EFFICIENT, EASY TO CLEAN, EXTREMELY WELL BUILT Juicer is GREAT!! It comes assembled and you can rinse out the parts and try it out in like 5 minutes. From my research I knew that dry pulp shows it's an efficient machine, and that frothy juice is a negative - from supposed oxidation. I'd call it oxygenization, since air gets into the juice from being centrifuged. Anyway, my own pulp test was fine. My first juice batch had moist pulp but when I pushed the veggies into the chamber more lightly the pulp was surprisingly dry. Put a plastic bag, like the kind you put your veggies in, into the pulp catcher as a liner and you'll reduce your mess by a lot. The thing disassembles quickly and easily. I use a veggie brush to clean the screen and the whole thing cleans up in like 5 minutes. The messiest thing for me was the inside of the plastic top. There was a little froth on the top of the juice, but nothing more than you get at a juice stand, and I'm not sure I believe this is a problem anyway. The parts are very solid. The mesh filter basket is well built and the blade is very thick and solid, especially compared to food processor blades. The bowl is also stainless. Highly recommend. Solid build, dry pulp when you get the right technique, and Omega stands by its products. MAY BE CON: Not sure about the froth issue. It didn't seem very frothy to me, but if you're used to the classic Champion juicers it may be more than you've had before. I'm just an inexperienced juicer and can't really tell whether this thing makes a lot or a little. Doesn't seem like a lot to me but I have nothing to compare it to.

I was hesitant about how much juice would be extracted because of the size. Very compact. Perfect for apartment living and small kitchens. I am presently surprised! It is easy to operate and makes alot of juice. The clean up and maintenance is easy. Definitely recommend this product!!!
