The downside of a great pan May 8, 2008 Desert Rat (Tucson, AZ, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received a panini pan--something I had been wanting for a long time--as a gift. After the first use, I had a heck of a time cleaning it. I was really happy to stumble on this tool. I have flat scrapers that I use for cleaning baking stones, so I knew it could work. It does. It's still best to soak the pan first, but this 'scoops the goop' that is loosened by the soak nicely. The only thing that would make it better would be if it did the cleaning without my help :).
Still Sticky! May 7, 2008 MarieCW (Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had a pair of these for over a month now. I've not used them yet, they are still soaking in the (often refreshed) warm soapy water I have had them in since I first tried to remove the stickers on them. Soaking and scrubbing have gotten me nowhere. If anyone has some ideas on what might work better, I'd love to hear. So far, though, I've gotten no use out of these, although the price is low and they do seem quite sturdy.
Little Gadget with some problems March 18, 2008 Suellen Kolbo (Red Bluff, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This very small but useful product was covered on both sides with an extremely sticky label, which would not come off even with nail polish remover. Although only about 2.5"x3" and weighing about 1 oz., it was shipped in a cardboard box 10"x12" in size, filled with plastic air pillows. Very wasteful packaging. The ease of cleaning my panini grill without pushing a paper towel up each trough sounded nice, but this was definitely not worth $5 plus shipping and handling. I would have thought Mario Batali would consider his endorsements more carefully.
Pan Scraper - Mario Batali Panini February 27, 2008 Mary A. Parham (Port Royal, SC USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I can't seem to get the hang of the panini pan and thought that the least I could do would be to keep it clean--hence, the scraper. Panini pan: fine, but not easy for me to use; Scraper: fine, and I seem to have scraper operation down pat.
