3 out of 5 stars A good juicer but.....   March 2, 2007

Overall this is a well built juicer. The only drawback to this juicer is the opening for the fruit and vegetable. It is very small so I have to make sure that I cut them to correct sizes or they will not fit the opening.

4 out of 5 stars Good Juicer for the Money   February 21, 2007

We need a replacement for our Juiceman Jr and after some research settled on the Omega 4000. Compared to the Juiceman, this thing is fabulous. The first one we received had some issues with one of the safety sensors on the lid latch, and the unit would not turn on until we opened and closed the latch several times. Amazon replaced the original promptly and we've been very happy with its performance.

It juices everything we've tried effortlessly, including carrots which gave our Juiceman a real workout, causing it to rumble, grind and sound like it was about to explode. We are impressed with the 4000's quiet efficiency.

The unit is reasonably easy to take apart to clean, though we are not thrilled with the screw assembly that holds the blade in place. It's too easy to lose and you have to be careful to make sure the blade is properly seated.

Some minor negatives. Make sure the blade has stopped moving before you attempt to remove the lid. If you do this while the blade is moving it can cause the plastic chute to come into contact with the blade and tear apart the plastic tube.

Also, the spout continues to drip well after you're finished juicing and if your juice cup is full, you are likely to wind up with juice on the counter while swapping cups. It also sputters sometimes, splattering juice around the counter.

Overall this as an excellent juicer with very minor flaws.

5 out of 5 stars A great juicer for my apple crop   January 5, 2007

Compared to the old version of juicers where you had to remove the pulp build up by taking the machine apart, this one is a dream! The pulp easily ejects "out the back door". The juice quality is excellent. Besides apples, I have tried it on carrots and it does a great job.

1 out of 5 stars Buyer BEWARE!!   December 8, 2006

Buyer BEWARE! I ordered a Omega 4000 juicer as a gift for my father a few months back and the thing is absolute junk! Not only is there more juice coming out of the pulp than what is actually coming out of the spout but the pulp ejector is constantly getting clogged. I notified LivingRight (The company I purchased from.) about this and they stated that I would have to contact the manufacturer and if the manufacturer decided it was defective then they would exchange it. And when I told them they should make their return policy up front and clear (If you order from the above mentioned company PLEASE check their return policy!)they claimed that their return policy is exactly the same as other companies. WRONG! Other companies let you return products that do not work! And when I contacted Omega they claimed that they can't do anything because I did not purchase directly through them! Even though they obviously authorized this company to sell their products! So that 15 year warranty means nothing! At the time, I paid $219.95 for this useless piece of junk. My father ended up purchasing a cheap juicer at Walmart for around $30 that worked better than the Omega 4000! And by the way, Walmart would have let him return it if the thing didn't work!

Don't spend $200 for a crappy juicer. Save your money get a cheaper juicer because it will perform better than this one and if you get it locally then at least you can return it if it doesn't work or if you really want to see for yourself then purchase it directly through Omega, otherwise they will not honor the warranty or perhaps they just believe this is the way a juicer should work.
