Good juicer - small grate November 24, 2007 Shannon A. Bailey (Vero Beach, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like the juicer overall. The large grate and tube make it nice to juice quickly. The small grate for the juicer is too small for juicing and clogs quickly. I can not juice heavy skinned or thick products or I have to clean out the grate 1/2 way through. Overall, I like the juicer.
Juicy! November 12, 2007 Elizabeth Willis (Atlanta, GA) This is great because you don't have to cut up your fruit before inserting it. It just chops everything you put in up and makes a delicious juice. I have been trying combinations of everything imaginable. I don't know how I got by without it!
Review of Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juicer November 4, 2007 Kevin Flick (Las Vegas, NV) 36 out of 36 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1OZ5VDHJ1QISS It's great in every way (but see below!). The sticking switch problem I had earlier is gone! Veggies that don't work for me in this juicer: oranges pineapple - too much bitter pulp included pears bananas - too much like a puree Mango: killed appliance. Update: 1/16/08. Bad news and good news: The bad news is that the plastic latches are too weak. I was juicing a mango and at at the end it gave a great shudder and the locking latches blew to bits! The manual mentions mangoes and says only that they be peeled, I did nothing wrong. The good news: I called up Hamilton Beach, and without fuss they arranged for a free replacement ($5.50 shipping, that's ok). While I was at it, I upgraded to the 67650 model, with metal latches, for $10. So don't get this one, get the other one here: Hamilton Beach 67650 Big Mouth Pro Juice Extractor, Chrome The customer service is outstanding.
Good one if you are ready to spend more time in cleaning October 29, 2007 Kalatheeswar Sivanesan (Edison, NJ. USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this juicer a month back and using it atleast 3 to 4 times a week. It is really a good one and can able to extract more than what I expected. But only problem is the filter. You need to clean the filter in between the process in order to get more juice. I use to clean it every glass of juice and in my experience, I get the same amount of juice if I clean it. Otherwise, I will get only around 75% of it and it keep reducing until you clean it. One good thing is the brush that has been provided with it which is very useful to reach all the corners of the filter and tray.
Small basket and cutting plate are the problem July 28, 2007 J. CHEN (broomfield, Colorado) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is essentially the same design as 67650 with less expensive construction (more plastic than metal). They suffer from the same common design flaws: small cutting plate, small basket, and the honeycomb filter is too fine. The problem with small cutting plate is that there are fewer cutting "teeth" and slower rotation velocity toward the edge. Combined with the "big mouth," the motor will slow down significantly when a large amount of food goes down the throat. The problem with small basket is that pulp does not get hydrated enough before flying out of chute. The smaller area also makes cleaning more frequent. The problem with overly find honeycomb mesh filter is that is get clogged easily. Once it is clogged, the juicing efficiency is greatly reduced. [...].
