Functional and Fabulous April 25, 2008 AHB I use this for tea and it's great! Keeps hot, easy to wash and it won't break like the glass ones.
Regarding Frieling Stainless-Steel 35-Ounce French Press April 8, 2008 T. Hancuff As nice as pictured. What you can't see is how well it is made. Perhaps the best made French Press ever made. I couldn't be happier.
Love my new pot! April 3, 2008 M. Singleton (usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I couldn't be happier with my new french press. I get no grounds in the coffee, this is a first. It looks great, feels substantial. Still doesn't make much coffee for 35 oz, but between the process of making it (heating the pot & cup with hot water, stirring the grounds, allowing it to steep etc..) and the coffee beans, it makes one amazing cup-o-joe!
NOT MEDIOCRE...I'll tell you why April 2, 2008 Heather Salem (Scranton, PA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a FANTASTIC coffee press for several reasons, and a VERY good buy at that. First, we are now drinking (from this press) the MOST DELICIOUS coffee we've ever HAD...and everyone who's tried it so far (friends and family) agrees with us. I'm extremely picky...and my husband who almost never drank coffee before, is now having some every day. So if you are trying to decide, like I was, between a coffee press, a coffeemaker, and an espresso machine, I strongly encourage you to try this coffee press, for flavor and texture alone. The person who thought this one was mediocre, because of the grounds, probably made the same mistake we did in the beginning. You do have to make sure that you add the hot water only up to about a quarter inch BELOW the pour spout (coffee included), so that when you lower the press nothing gets forced up into the spout that could fall back in on top, thereby ending up in your cup when you pour. Additionally, it's FAST. It's EASY to clean. It won't break like a glass carafe and IT IS THERMAL and holds the heat for quite a while. It's pretty, too...a real piece of ART. The only problem I can foresee is that it's very portable. I've only had it for about two weeks and already two different people have asked me to bring it with me when I go to their house. I do believe it's going to be my new "gift" of choice for coffee-loving friends! or I might open up my own coffee bar and call it Savebucks! :) PS. I also bought a Froth-au-Lait milk frotherProfessional Stainless Steel Heat On/Off Froth Au Lait frother and it is a GREAT product as well with excellent customer service. I wanted stainless steel, so I spent the extra $$, but they also sell more affordable onesFroth Au Lait - Froth 'N Sauce, Platinum and the reviews are great on those as well. I now happily pass my favorite coffee spots on my way to get HOME for my latte or cappuccino!
Great press and wonderful customer service March 27, 2008 K. Anderson (Portland, OR United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I owned a similar product, the Bodum Columbia insulated press Bodum Columbia 34-Ounce Stainless-Steel Thermal Coffee Press Pot for 3 years, and I decided to switch to the Frieling press a few weeks ago. The Bodum has a filter that has a plastic housing and is surrounded by a silicone flap, and the silicone had worn off over time, allowing grounds to get into my coffee. In addition, the plastic absorbed coffee smell over time, making fresh coffee smell old. The Frieling press has several advantages: 1. All parts are stainless steel. There is no plastic to wear out, break, or absorb odors, and there's no glass to break. It looks and feels well-made. 2. It keeps my coffee warm for maybe twice as long as the Bodum. 3. The filter screen has a smooth edge. I originally bought the Bodum press because the screens on other presses had rough edges that would fray or poke me when I washed them. Bodum fixed the problem by surrounding the screen with plastic, but Frieling takes the common sense option of just hemming it. Smart. 4. It fully disassembles for cleaning. 5. Replacement parts are available through their website. 6. It makes great coffee. When the press arrived, the connection between the rod and the metal plunger was funky. It wouldn't tighten down all the way, as though the threads didn't quite match. I didn't want to have a whole new press shipped - that seemed wasteful - so I emailed Frieling. They were courteous and apologetic, and they sent me replacement parts within an hour of my emailing them. The parts arrived in perfect condition, and they worked. There are plenty of companies out there that don't stand by their products and treat their customers like they don't matter, so that means a lot to me. I highly recommend that you buy this press.
