Works just fine. Only request would be for an on/off switch so you don't always have to unplug it. Otherwise, great for the price.

My old Hot Pot finally died and so I bought this one a couple of months ago. I love the fact that it whistles when the water is boiling because sometimes it's easy to forget. It doesn't take long and your water is hot. It's the perfect size and works very well. I highly recommend this electric tea kettle.
Low profile and super fast February 25, 2008

The low profile makes this kettle superior to many of the others- there is no danger of knocking it over and it is easy to fill under the faucet. The kettle is superfast, easy to fill with a little notch inside the spout to show the full line and easy to pour. The cord is short but I don't find it a problem. The whistle is great, the water is usually done by the time I have the teapot and tray ready.
I also use this teakettle to heat water to pour down my drains to keep them running without the use of chemicals. It is so easy to take this upstairs, fill it, boil the water and pour it down the bathroom sink drain to keep it clear. Before this I had to carry a kettle of boiling water upstairs. There is no on/off switch but that seems to be the way they are making most electric appliances, my grill, waffle maker and panini press are all like that. Buy it on sale, you can't go wrong.

We've had an electric tea kettle for many years now. The new models availavle in local retail stores are probably faster in heating but just not suited for our kitchen counter. This item used to be sold in stores but I was able to find it only on Amazon.

There are very few electric teapots that whistle. I got this for my office so that I get a signal that the water's boiling when I'm cruising on email, meeting with people or engrossed in other work. I wish it had an on-off switch. Also the pot itself gets frightfully hot (no insulation), but it's not a problem holding the handle. It gets the job done. Pretty inexpensive, too. I might upgrade later for a more robustly featured pot. But for now, this gets my tea.
