I like the combination cooking feature September 11, 2007 James T. Hammond (Upstate, NY) Very attractive oven as Microwaves are presented. I have owned several over the years and this Sanyo is by far the most attractive. Operation is very easy to manage and extremely functional. Some may criticise it as being a bit slow, but as any good cook knows the slower the process, the more savory the outcome. I have found this to be true particularly with egg recipes. This product is much superior to others I have owned in the past.
Nice for the price August 23, 2007 M. Manno (Leke Erie) New technology, very nice, but read the manual. Nothing beter than a counter top appliance that does more than one thing. This is the microwave of the future.
I put it out on the curb August 5, 2007 S. Hoge (Santa Cruz, CA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This item really didn't ever perform any of its functions satisfactorily, prepared as I was to take the multi-functional aspect of its design into account. The cosmetics are quite nice and it looked real good sitting out on the curb with that FREE sign waiting for some other sucker to take it away. Are you prepared to wait 12 minutes for bread to toast? Didn't think so. 3 minutes to reheat a pizza slice? Uh-uh. Two strikes. Also, it had very intermittent operation because the door interlock switch didn't always engage, even though the door gave a nice "click" when it closed, and all the other lights were on - it just wouldn't start up. I tried sticking a broken-off chopstick in the latch to keep it engaged, but that didn't work for very long. Strike three. And while I thought the control knob would be a great feature, the actual interface design on this thing really blows: one billion operating modes + 5 buttons + knob = user interface hell. Better keep the owner's manual taped to the front of the unit. I AM giving it one star because it had a handle instead of a door button. It was a nice handle.
best freaken microwave ever August 2, 2007 archie martin 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
ive never written a review before, for anything, ever. this microwave is worth it though. before i bought this microwave i was looking through reviews on this page and almost ended up not buying it because i read a couple negative reviews. i even bought a panasonic microwave first, fortunately i hated the panasonic, everything cooked too fast and unevenly. i then returned it to my local blue n yellow and got this in its place. best microwave ive ever owned. it may be a little slower than other microwaves out there but you eventually get a feel for how it cooks and things come out nice. the really great thing is the built in toasting element. not so much for the stand alone toasting which takes a bit longer than a conventional toaster but the results are just as good. it comes with a mteal grill stnad that you put ontop of the glass revolving table. ive found that without the "grill" you cann keep food warm using turns bread to toast in under 5 minutes. where the toasting element i think really shines is the combo buttons. 1 button give you a mix of 30%microwaving 70%"grill" the my general rule is for cold or room temp food that you want reheated but don't want to loose as much of the crispiness that it had when it was fresh. use combo 1, this wont make miracles. sorry. but it does do a much better job a keeping things crispy than a standard microwave. i like it for left out pizza. frozen chimichangas or burritos are better when the tortilla isn't steamed from constant microwaving. combo number 2 is 60% microwave and 40% "grill" i like using it mostly for frozen things. the stainless interior is easy to clean and looks fancy. the control scheme is a bit foreign but after you have used it a while you become familiar with it and end up liking it. it makes it easier to add or take away time as the food is cooking, and reminds me of those old analog kitchen timers/egg timers. i do think thats its lame that for the preset cooking time for items(like popcorn) arent labeled as the foods you would cook rather they are labeled A1 through A9. there is a chart inside the door which tells you what they all mean but it really would have been nice if i didn't have to do that. oh and the popcorn setting doesn't work out well for me. that is all. im happy with my purchase and recommends it. my friend bought one recently based on my recommendations and he is also very happy with it. that could be you!
Just Perfect June 12, 2007 Robert J. Wolfe (Earth) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading some other reviews, I was a little concerned about this microwave. After using this oven for a few months and all of the different features, I am VERY happy with this oven. I like using the combination grill with the microwave!!! The oven looks great on my counter, and works even better!!!!
