Fabulous looking and works beautifully! June 28, 2007 K. Telecky (Dallas, TX) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I just received my Cuisinart microwave yesterday. It arrived in perfect condition, so I didn't have any of the problems another reviewer had. First of all, let me give the exterior measurements since this was a problem for some of the reviewers and gave me pause when I was considering purchasing it: It measures 20 1/4 inches across the front; it stands 12 3/4 inches high; it is 14 3/4 inches deep (it actually takes slightly less space than my previous 1 cubic foot microwave). It is absolutely gorgeous and the shiney stainless steel interior gives me a thrill every time I use it. As with any new appliance, it took some getting used to the new features, but the express buttons that allow one to cook one minute, two minutes, etc, at the push of one button are very useful. One can also push the +30 sec button for an easy half minute use. To cook for 50 sec or 35 sec or some other individualized setting, one must just push the power button once before pushing the number of seconds you want - not at all difficult, but different from my old one. I don't find it noisey as one reviewer did - it is a bit quieter than my previous one. I am quite pleased and, as I said before, I can't hold back a "wow" every time I open the door and see that gorgeous interior! The front is brushed stainless steel and black glass with a shiney chrome handle (great looking). The sides and top appear to be a brushed stainless "look" metal. I first wrote the above review in June 2007 and it is now August 2008, so I am adding this Post Script: After more than a year of heavy, daily use (I cook and heat in my microwave dozens of times a day), this microwave still works wonderfully, looks terrific and there is no sign of deterioration or wear to any parts of it. I was surprised to read in one review, that the "chrome" handle is actually plastic - that really surprised me... Gosh, it still looks and feels like chrome to me and is still in perfect condition after LOTS of handling. So, I don't think it needs to be of concern, whatever it is made of. Summing up, I still think it's a nifty microwave and the stainless interior continues to be a "WOW" of a feature!!
Measurements on website are incorrect April 11, 2007 M. Cross 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
I ordered this product based on the measurements Amazon listed because I have a tight space in my kitchen. The measurements are several inches off on each dimension. I can only imagine that perhaps the measurements provided are INTERIOR measurements not exterior; since it was not specified I just ASSUMED they were exterior. Very disappointed. I cannot speak to how well the product works since I returned it.
dimensions not clearly stated March 12, 2007 S. Mosley 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
Beautiful microwave, but dimensions didn't specify 'overall' or 'interior'. Turned out to be too large for where I wanted to place it in my kitchen.
DISAPPOINTING! February 26, 2007 William J. Moyer (Pensacola, Fl United States) 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
We have several other Cuisinart kitchen products which we've found to be dependable and stylish. We purchased this microwave to complement these items. We brought the microwave home and tried it out; it was five times louder than any other microwave we've had. Sounded like some of the internal stainless steel parts or fan were loose. Called Cuisinart and their customer service was clueless. Wound up taking the microwave back to where we purchased it. Found a GREAT DEAL on a COOKS MICROWAVE/CONVECTION at JC PENNEY on sale for $99.99 (1/2 price). Works great and is so quiet you don't know it's on.
Great esthetics, very poor service November 22, 2006 grillgramma (Northeast USA) 35 out of 38 found this review helpful
Excellent design. Stainless steel interior is a plus. However, after 2 weeks, the turntable started squeaking; no amount of cleaning helped. Also, the door edge chipped, so a corner is very sharp. Cuisinart has terrible, unfriendly customer service. To return it would cost $30 or more S&H, even if the unit is defective they don't pay any shipping. They were not helpful - never have been. This is their first microwave and there are few reviews, if any, so you'll have to hope you don't get a lemon as I did. If it had not malfunctioned (turntable) and chipped I would rave about the ease of use and overall design and give it 5 stars. Too bad it's still in "beta" test stage.
