It works! No complaints September 16, 2008 C. D. Beck (Prairie Village, KS) It works as expected! I bought the Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker to can tomatoes and peppers from the garden. I did have to lift the air vent/cover lock to "encourage" it to raise but I expect that's because I didn't allow enough time for the venting period. This version of the Presto 23-quart pressure cooker weighs less than the one that my mother used which makes it a lot easier to handle. I'm planning on canning pumpkin and trying some of the recipes.
Where have you been? September 9, 2008 James D. Hitchcock 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Large enough for the Saturday afternoon canning marathons. Easy to read gauge. Takes a while to come up to temperature, but its aluminum, I use a flat top electric stove, and it's HUGE. If you're pressure canning, definitely give this a go.
works great! September 6, 2008 Toni Spinelli (Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
thank you so much for a quick delivery it is canning season and I expected a wait, no so the item came within a couple of days! This is a top notch product I have used it a number of times and no complaints
Great pressure cooker - but it's BIG September 3, 2008 S. Silverman 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is probably more pressure cooker than most people need, but it works wonderfully. The gauge on top is exremely useful to monitor precise temp for canning and such. The only drawback is its size. It barely fit on my stove under the microwave. Be sure and measure before you buy.
It is not your mother's pressure canner! September 2, 2008 Stephanie Manley (Eau Claire, MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this pressure canner, it isn't the canner that my mother had. There are no worries that this will accidently explode on you, this canner is completely save with it's unique safety features. This canner hasn't been off my stove since the start of canning season. This is a very heavy gauge metal and will last for many years to come. The manual contained instructions for the slight assembly required and several recipes. So far I have made jelly, jams, canned pate, crushed tomatoes, marina sauce, and spaghetti sauce with meat, relish, and pickles. This has done a fantastic job each time. You can stack a ton of jars in this pressure canner so you don't have to do just a few jars at a time. This will be a canner that I know will be the last one that I will ever need. It is safe with two over pressure releases. I love this canner and look forward to many years of service along with many tasty meals.
