4 out of 5 stars Big n Sharp   January 7, 2008

This pizza cutter has a real big wheel and is extremely sharp when you get it. My wife cut one of those little personal pan pizza into eighths without removing the cheesy top part. It just cut right through. You may want to put the pizza on a cutting board, I have a feeling that in pan cutting will dull the blade eventually.

What can I say, she really likes this brand of pizza cutters, and was really upset when it came up missing. So, after trying to weasel the brand name out of her ("I don't know, it's like XXO or something"), I went to work and found it. Whether or not it's a great pizza cutter, I don't know, but it got me some "good husband points".

WHILE THIS CUTS THROUGH PIZZA AS ADVERTISED, THE CENTER OF WHEEL IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL AS ADVERTISED. MINE STARTED SHOWING RUST IN CENTER OF WHEEL AFTER 10 WASHINGS!

I also read the review in Cook's about this giant pizza wheel. I was sold, so I bought. I do love Oxo products and this has the typical Oxo grip - large and tactile. The thing is, it just isn't that spectacular at cutting thru my store-bought California Kitchen or Totino's pizza. I had to go back and forth, back and forth. Sigh......I might as well go back to using scissors.

This is my second pizza cutter in my entire life. It is everything I thought it would be and more. I love the grippy handle and the huge wheel. I use it on my home made pizza. Yes, I make the dough from scratch along with everything else. It cuts my dough to perfectlion. I don't buy pizza from the store or from chains, so I don't know how it would work on other pizzas. I think that if it was used on store-bought pizza it might be comparable to cutting through a cardboard box. That is not what this item is designed to do. Use a box cutter for that. Overall it is highly recommended by me. Keep in mind that I also make whole wheat dough and like it extra crispy. It does beautiful job.
