5 out of 5 stars Great iron if you know how to use it.   July 18, 2008
Gadget Man (Columbus, OH. USA)
I have a more expensive professional system which was being serviced when I bought the DG5030. I was disappointed at first because a lot of water was coming through when I would begin to iron and press the steam button. This happened no matter how long I let the unit pre-heat. I finally realized that there was condensation in the hose. By purging the hose for about 15-20 seconds I was able to eleminate the water and wetting of what was being ironed. That problem solved this unit is every bit as good as my Professional system which costs almost ten times as much. My only question now is will it hold up to a lot of ironing which goes on in my large household.

I purchased this to use primarily as a vertical garment steamer. Totally does not work. As a regular iron it is maybe a little better than the regular iron I have. I returned the product. It does not perform as advertised.

5 out of 5 stars Great product   July 1, 2008

Its an amazing product! I used to hate ironing but now I sort of look forward to it:)

This steamer has cut my ironing time by at least one third. The clothes look great too.

On the flip side: You have to wait till it gets really hot or you may have some sprinkle of water on your clothes.

4 out of 5 stars Rowenta replaced product   June 13, 2008

Product initially spit, spotted, and reservoir literally vibrated if turned on within a few minutes of previous use. Returned product and within 3 weeks, upon following up with a phone call, the product was replaced. Replacement MUCH better, but still occasional spotting.

3 out of 5 stars Good iron, but is it safe   June 6, 2008

It's really performancewise a great iron. Ours however failed on the first day with the steam switch stuck in the open position causing a burn.

After cooling off and turning the iron on again, the switch was still stuck, the iron was blasting steam again. I believe that is a serious safety issue and a design error. Rowentausa support wasn't too interested, so I returned the device to Amazon.
