5 out of 5 stars My #1 Citrus Juicer   March 31, 2008

I have 2 other highly rated citrus juicers, and this is by far my favorite due to its ease of use, the strong power of the Artisan mixer, and extreme ease of cleanup. Thanks to the other reviewers of this product who helped make my purchase decision, and forewarning me about a couple of possible issues. I add oil to the aluminum shaft, never have used the strainer that comes with it (or even an external strainer--my preference for juice: the pulpier the better), and took care not to let the juice run down my arm. The latter was my biggest concern prior to buying, but hasn't been an issue at all for me. Perhaps because I'm 6' tall, have my Kitchen Aid mixer on a 34" counter, and just keep my elbow slightly elevated when juicing, it works like a charm. I haven't found messiness concerns of using this juicer to be well founded--juicing is inherently going to be a little messy, and this attachment provides as good a "mess-constrainer" as I've come across: a few minor tiny splatters only. It's the cleanest, slickest juicer option out there as far as I know. Wouldn't be without it. Kitchen Aid deserves kudos for another great product. Thank you!

5 out of 5 stars Nice accessory to have   March 14, 2008

It's simple and it gets the job done. It's very easy to attach and for the small price it gave my mixer one more use instead of having to get an additional gadget for juice which is great!

3 out of 5 stars very messy   February 28, 2008

It gets alot of juice out of the citrus compared to other hand squeezed juicers and citrus press but the juice tends to slide down your wrist and arm. Also holding the citrus up is hard on the wrist and arms, so not a great solution if you like to juice a pitcher worth at a time. The upside is, it's not another small appliance so if you have someone who will juice for you or if you don't juice often, then this product is for you.

5 out of 5 stars as expected   February 13, 2008

I used this item to juice tangerines and it was great. I could adjust the speed and it doesn't stop like the regular juicers. It was fast and a little messy at the beginning. As other reviewers said, if you keep your fingers pointing up, it gets better. The only downside is that it gets a bit tiring for the arm but it's good exercise!

4 out of 5 stars You can't beat the power of a KitchenAid   February 7, 2008

I've had many citrus juicers over the years, and have never been able to juice oranges as fast as I can using this attachment.

Yes, I think the pulp screen is a nuisance (that's the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars). So I skipped using the pulp screen, juiced into a large bowl and then poured the contents through a kitchen strainer. Works like a charm!

I didn't have any problems with juice running down my arm. Maybe because I was holding the oranges on an angle.
