1 out of 5 stars Be Warned!!!!   November 19, 2007

I too purchased this scoop and as others have said piror it will and has rusted in the inner part of the scoop. I wish I could get my money back but no luck in that so I am in search of a better one. Its kinda sad though that you pay money for name brand products and still be MAJORLY disappointed with cheapness.

2 out of 5 stars Worked for a while...   November 2, 2006

I purchased this ice cream scoop after I ruined one of the antifreeze scoops by washing it in the dishwasher. The scoop works well. However, although it was advertised as dishwasher safe, the inside of the scoop has begun to pit. Also, the handle collects water in the dishwasher, which slowly leaks out in the drawer. I'm tossing it.

2 out of 5 stars If I wanted a 2 year scoop, I would have paid less...   September 5, 2006

This was a great scoop. Worked well, looks nice, flashy, but it started to degrade after a year or so. At first it was juat a little mark inside the scoop but it grew. I put up with it but now it's rusting. Nothing worse then scooping out orange vanilla ice cream.

For the price I paid, I would have expected this scoop to last longer. Yeah, it's flashy, but I wanted longevity. Next time I'll buy a cheaper scoop.

I have had this ice cream scoop for 3 years, and we do not use it that offen.
Now I see that the chrome is peeling off in the middle of the scoop part!!!
I have no idea why this would happen??
Other wise we like it, but now I'm wondering what is underneath this and is it not safe to use?...

I'm now thinking is 3 stars too much!!

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic ice cream scooper   March 25, 2006

My wife and I purchased the black model of this item 4 years ago at a Macy's store. We have used the scooper on average once a week and absolutely love it. It's solidly built, has a comfortable grip, and performs as good as the day we bought it. We have never had a problem with ice cream sticking to the scoop surface.

After all these years, the only wear-and-tear is a slight abrasion to the chrome scoop on the underside (probably due to the scooper sliding inside our drawer as we open/close it quickly). The abrasion has not caused any sticking.

Highly recommend!
