Had ours 16 years...now its dying. October 3, 2008 D. A. D. (East Coast) Our can opener is now dying after about 16 years. It isnt holding a charge all of a sudden. We like the opener very much. Have there been many changes to the design over the years? I am seeing that some say the opener is only lasting a year or two. That would not be good as the one we have now lasted along time.
THE BEST September 22, 2008 R. Vitale (MA) Have owned mine since 2000. It just died, my fault dropped in kitchen sink full of water. NEVER had a problem with it in all those years. would recommend 100%
Cool gadget September 2, 2008 petlover (USA) I am in heaven! We have a dog that eats part canned food, love Italian food which means opening lots of canned tomatoes, and I bought a manual can opener about every 2 months since all of them stopped cutting after a short time. This opener is not only cordless (big plus, you can use it anywhere without dragging a cord through the kitchen), fast, quiet, and cuts right through the metal like butter. I also like that the attached magnet holds the lid after it is detached from the can. No more cuts on my fingers. Another plus is that you can actually clean the blade and wheel, no nasty food leftovers anymore. Considering what a good, manual can opener costs, this is a bargain, even if the battery won't last forever as some reviewers mentioned. I will just buy a new one.
Can Opener August 25, 2008 R. Pollins (Woodstock, NY) I bought this as a gift for a friend who has very limited dexterity in her hands. It is really easy for her to use and she is delighted with it. Also, it is very easy to clean, which is a big plus.
So far so good August 13, 2008 RTurb0 (Columbus, OH USA) We bought this to replace our "Gizmo" can opener when the battery finally stopped accepting charges (After 4 years). We didn't want an under-the-counter unit, so we decided to give this one a try. So far it is at least as good as the Gizmo was, but even seems easier to get lined up on the can. We can only hope for the money that it lasts 4+ years as well.
