Beehive is the best July 18, 2008 J. Shaw (northeast Ohio) This blender exceeds my expectations. It blends smoothies extremely well, and the blender is easy to clean. I find it a useful tool to have along with my food processor and Vita-Mix.
Strong but messy July 15, 2008 mercat37 (Philadelphia, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace my Braun blender, which died after a mere two years of use. Despite the outstanding reviews the Oster received, I would not recommend it. Yes, it is strong - too strong. If you put more than 1 cup of liquid in there, it goes all over the kitchen - and that is despite forcefully holding down the lid during the blending process. Blending a huge pot of soup one cup at a time is not fun. On the other hand, it did an outstanding job with pesto - better than the Braun. On pulse, it does a nice job of sucking everything down into the blades. I don't have to constantly stop and stir. Unfortunately, I make soup far more often than I make pesto. So while I will not be getting rid of this until it dies, I will be cleaning up my kitchen far more than I had anticipated.
Excellent blender July 7, 2008 marsha After about 25 years, it was necessary to replace my old Waring Blender. I read all the reviews, and decided on this blender by Oster. It is attractive, and does a great job. Follow the directions, and put your ice in last for smoothies, and all will go well. I also used it to blend soup I had made, and it did a great job with that as well.
A tough machine June 27, 2008 Georgio (Crawfordville, FL) I have been through a lot of blenders, and they just don't hold up. This one is tough, and I don't need all the bells and whistles that other blenders have.
Save yourself the grief! June 26, 2008 L. Greenhalgh 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My old blender died and when I mentioned it to a family member, they offered me this one. They were buying a Blendtec and didn't need it anymore. Ever heard the phrase 'you get what you pay for' ? Well, it certainly applies here! I would really be frustrated if I bought this blender. It's cute, no doubt. And if you just want a blender that looks good, with it's retro styling, go for it. But it is noisy and doesn't blend well and can't handle anything very thick. I am getting a Blendtec and SOON!
