Stylish design, Even toasting June 5, 2008 S. Tees I've had this KitchenAid 4-slice, 2-slot toaster for about six weeks. I prefer this style because bread slices are occasionally too wide for regular-slotted toasters. I use it about 5 times a week. It does the job. The toast is very evenly browned, not striped. The knob, however, has no physical start and stop points - an odd feature. The knob controls a bright red LED readout of numbers. It'll take a few experiments to find your number. I'm a "7" man, myself. It lacks a "cancel" button to pop the toast up early, so you need to use the slide for that - a trivial design flaw.
Did not last at all. May 12, 2008 John Mcleod VII (Atlanta, GA) It worked for the warranty period and then failed a few days later. It will now only toast on one side (using the bagel setting turns it off completely as it is the other side that is broken), and the toast does not stay down very well.
Ya Win Some, Ya lose Some ... I lost this one! April 25, 2008 P. S. Land (Dallas, TX) I read tons of reviews for numerous toasters and this one seemed to have a 50-50 shot at being one of the best, based on the most current reviews. The negative 50 was uneven browning and burnt toast; the positive 50 was perfect toast. The size and shape met my needs and since most of the negatives were dated some time ago, so I figured (hoped) that KitchenAid had improved the design. I was wrong. Burnt toast (on ONE side). Uneven browning. I guess I got one of the negative models. Would I buy again? Not this model.
Multi-functioned Toaster April 23, 2008 B. Swerer KitchenAid KTT570WH 4-Slice Digital Toaster with Bagel, Warm, and Frozen Functions, White It took the place of a 30 year old 4 slice toaster and a bagel toaster. It's nice to have just one toaster. We have found that you need to adjust the numbers on the toaster depending on which feature you are using. It does a nice job on the defrost/bagels. Providing you put it on the right setting. If it isn't done evenly, put it back in for a little bit more. It does take more work than our old ones. We never had to fiddle with the settings on either the old toaster or the old bagel toaster. It is very hard to find a LONG 4 slice toaster as most of them are wide. This takes up less space on our counter. We doubt that this will last 30 years, but we're very glad to have one that is nice, sleek and does a reasonable job. Just remember, if it doesn't come out evenly browned on all sides, next time you use that type of bread, turn it up a notch and it will be more evenly browned.
very disapointed March 29, 2008 A. Garcia (Texas) Toasted very unevenly. Couldn't raise the toast high enough to remove easily. Couldn't keep starting the day being so annoyed- replaced it within two weeks.
