1 out of 5 stars For Gentle Use Only!   September 23, 2008
Donna K. Mcclish (Alexandria, VA USA)
One would think that a company that stakes its reputation on what is considered the best cast iron cookware on the planet would make the same effort with its Cast Iron Scrubber Brush.

After vigorus use, I have one that has lost one of its bristle tufts.

Pass on the option to buy this one!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect!   September 22, 2008

The scrubber brush has come in very handy and has worked perfect for cleaning our cast iron skillet. It's also easy to clean because it is dishwasher safe!

2 out of 5 stars why bother?   September 4, 2008

Just use a medium or firm bristle potato (palm) brush. Cleans Iron Pans (and woks) quickly because your energy is directly put onto the surface of the pan. Big plus... A potato brush cleans in seconds under the faucet-- no special care -- or you can put it in the dishwasher if its really dirty!Clipper Mill Potato Brush / Cleaner

1 out of 5 stars what a shame   August 18, 2008
Austin V. Hearell (miami, fl)
I love Lodge products. I have 6 pieces in my collection. This piece misses the mark. Yes it is the perfect design to clean cast iron but quality is not a term you can reserve for this piece. I read several reveiws before buying and felt that the users were probably more the problem than the product. Well sorry to say that is the wrong conclusion. It fell apart on the first use. The head pulled out of the handle. Once it dried I put it back together with some epoxy that doesn't work either the wood swells so much the epoxy won't maintain a bond. The bristles are too soft and after less than a dozen uses they look like a worn out toothbrush and they stained to boot. Now the head is beginning to crack. Lodge could fix this brush easily. The price would go up some but at least the product would last long enough to get your moneys worth. A little resin impregnated wood to fix the unstable nature of the wood they are currently are using and a better bristle and this brush could last several years rather than the several months this one did. The ergonomics are great just the quality stinks especially when I have found an all plastic version very similiar to it for half the price that lasts a good 6 months. Oh by the way for those who think that it is the user at fault here. I have only exposed the brush to the water that it takes to clean the pan I'm cleaning and after using I wash out the bristles with a little dishwashing soap and hang up to air dry.

1 out of 5 stars Cheaply Made and Falls Appart   June 25, 2008

Unlike the excellent Lodge Logic ironware, this is a complete piece of junk. If you apply any pressure, the brush head disengages from the wooden shaft. That's because it's just pressed in and not glued. I made the mistake of buying two of these. That kind-of worked out since my first one melted because my wok was too hot -- Didn't see that coming but it actually worked better once it was melted -- Go figure!
