I just received the extra bowl and it will come in handy when I make cookies, pies, and meat balls, etc. I like having a handle to hold on to. It sure is nice and shiny. I would recommend purchasing the extra bowl to others.

i like having an extra bowl, but the handle really is a pain, as other reviewers have mentioned. i'm not even bothered that it's a 1/2 qt smaller.

I had to give it 4 stars because it would have been nice if the handle would have been more like the one on the bowl that came with my mixer.

I'm so glad this bowl went on sale and I had gift certificates for it. It fits perfectly in my Artisan mixer, and is just a bit smaller than the bowl that accompanied the mixer.
An unexpected benefit was that I'm able to better photograph and film what I'm mixing in this shorter bowl.
The handle isn't like the original bowl's handle, but it really doesn't make that much of a difference. It's super-handy when making multi-bowl recipes using the mixer, or making multiple recipes. I can cover this bowl with plastic and chill it while I use the other one to make another recipe.

Having an extra bowl saves transferring mixes into another bowl to re-use. It saves time! What I don't like about this bowl is that it's a bit smaller and the handle isn't as comfortable as the one that came with my original unit. Also, it's a bit expensive even though I got it on sale. Hence, the 3 star rating.
