 Not slow! Works perfectly for me April 29, 2008

Lots of reviewers have commented about how it took them minutes to sift a single cup of flour. I sifted 3 cups worth in about 15 seconds, and I wasn't shaking it excessively either. The sifting action works well, and I did not have any problems with flour going all over or needing to use a super large bowl to catch it all. Honestly, I don't know if the other reviewers got a bad item, or if they were trying to sift a coarsely ground material, but it works fine.

Works well, and good quality. Just that the wiggle action is a it of a pain (and a mess) to use if sifting into a small bowl.

I have been very pleased with other OXO products, but this sifter is a dud. It takes a lot more time and effort to sift flour with this sifter than with a regular sifter. And, it just doesn't work at all on some things like corn meal. I'm throwing mine in the trash.

We were really disappointed in this product. In the past, this brand has put forth some great products, but this one really falls short. We have ended up having to use heavy household tape to keep the top lid on, which still doesn't keep it airtight and the contents fresh. The sifting is "awkward" according to my husband. Again, I would not repurchase but I will still keep trying other items by this brand, because in the past I have been impressed with the brand. oxo

Another awesome product from OXO! Very ergonomic. Heavier gage mesh than pictured. Should last for the rest of MY life! Thanks Grandma, but the mesh wore out on your old one!!! Wish it had a handle on the side like Grandma's old one. The shaking can be a bit cumbersome for those that have a problem with repeatative motion difficulty.
