2 out of 5 stars toaster oven review   October 29, 2007

I am not too pleased with the way the door opens and closes it sticks every time I open it. Making it hard to open. Otherwise it works fine.

I love this toaster oven; it's just the right size and very convenient for
broiling a small piece of chicken or fish. Also good for warming up
cold or frozen dishes.

This is an amazingly good buy. We did a lot of shopping around before buying this one. Black & Decker is a brand we have grown to trust and we were pleased to find a toaster oven that looks this good and performs this well for such an incredibly low price.

We received our toaster as a wedding gift 12.5 years ago. It has handled waffles, chicken tenders, toast, bagels and pizza slices. Ours doesn't have a timer or a chime--we have three other timers in our kitchen. It has obvious shortcomings if you are expecting to use it as a full service oven. For us, it has been an extremely reliable appliance. It has fulfilled it's requirements as a quality toaster oven.

1 out of 5 stars The worst kitchen appliance I've owned   September 15, 2007

The oven does not ding when it turns off. The oven door frequently jams so that it's difficult to open and close. The wires on the wire rack are so far apart that relatively large pieces of toast often fall between the wires. (They're quite difficult to retrieve.) The housing is mostly conductive metal so it's very easy to burn yourself.

How hard is it to design a toaster oven? We continue to be amazed at what a lousy piece of equipment this is.

I used to like Black & Decker appliances. You've been warned.
