Excellent deep fryer August 28, 2008 Scott Roberts I have owned this model for about a year now and it is a perfect fit for my kitchen counter. It has a nice housing that doesn't make it look industrial, like many of the other brands and models do. I suspect that these other brands are intentionally made to look industrial to give home cooks the illusion that they're somehow at another skill level. Yet for me this model gives a more delicate, home feeling to owning a deep fryer. In terms of actual cooking, it has worked perfectly for us and thats why I bought the same model after I broke the first one (my own fault). The reason I broke my first one is related to the only complaint I have about this model: cleaning. I imagine that all deep fryers are difficult to clean, so this one is likely no worse than all the others. What I did though was boil soapy water to remove the caked on grease from the basket and when the water level dropped below the heating element, it burned out. Stupid mistake on my part and I won't be doing that again. Also in regards to cleaning, I used oven cleaner on the underside of the lid, which then became scuffed up. It wasn't the stainless steel apparently that is used in the oil basin and was obviously another stupid error on my part. Perhaps the more industrial models can handle the more aggressive cleaning regimes (oven cleaners, etc...), but other than that this it is the perfect model for me. I can sacrifice the cleaning aspect for the look and feel of this model.
"Keeper" July 27, 2008 Rodney Hanagriff (Houston, Texas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This personal deep fryer is a "keeper" ... works great and easy clean up ... what else could you ask for in a deep fryer ... Rodney
Love it!! June 22, 2008 M. Foreman 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love, love, love this deep fryer, and I have used it quite a few times since buying it. (Well, I am a southerner afterall!) The oil heats up super fast and the food cooks fast and even, perfectly crisp without a trace of grease. Delicious! Cleaning the unit is a breeze because things come apart so easily. Doesn't take up a lot of counter space for the capacity too - I have mine on the corner spot next to my stove and it fits nicely on that 12" of space with plenty of cabinet clearance to open the lid and pull the basket out. Perfect! Although I don't move my fryer, it's nice to know it has the safety feature of a magnetic cord so that if it gets bumped the cord comes off, rather than the unit being pulled down. Yeah, the on/off button and on indicator light has changed from the above photo - but that's a minor feature change that I happen to like. Yeah, the timer ding is a little puny but if you're frying, shouldn't you kinda be monitoring it anyway? It's enough to catch your attention while you tend to other kitchen duties. And yeah, if you're frying in your house, well it's gonna smell like you've been frying in your house! Goes away after a short time anyway. If you're looking for a reasonably priced unit that is easy to clean and works great, this is the one. I love it!
Better than my last Fryer June 15, 2008 AVB (WIXOM, MI United States) Works great! Nice machine, easy to clean, heats up fast, good temperature control. I would buy it again!
Waring Pro deep fryer April 29, 2008 Wilfred Theberge 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Fryer works fine and I'm happy with it, however, when it was delivered one of the rubber foot pads was damaged, when I contacted Waring (Conair) for a replacement foot pad they told me that I couldn't get foot pads by themselves and instructed me to return the WHOLE fryer to Amazon, when I protested they told me to return the WHOLE fryer to them so I told them to shove their advice and went to Lowes where I found (4) rubber pads that were suitable, cost $1.00 plus tax. Conair's customer service is as bad as it gets, this wasn't my first encounter with Conair.
