This coffee maker was given as a wedding gift, and what a wonderful gift it turned out to be. It is simple to operate, no lengthy manual reading needed, and it truly makes the best cup of coffee I have ever had at home. I love the convenience of setting the morning brew time, and having it remember all your settings each time. I was able to alter the amount of coffee I use by setting the strength. I feel it's best feature though, is the temperature setting. I love a hot cup of coffee (not warm), and this feature allows you to set your perfect temperature. If you want a cup of coffee before it's finished brewing, you just pull out the pot and pour your cup, then it resumes making the coffee when you replace it (works perfect every time, no leaks), how cool is that? For the price (paid 39.99), I doubt you will find anything better.
Good coffee, lots of steam August 15, 2008

The Oster makes great coffee! However, the steam that comes from the brew basket and the pot are causing the display panel to go almost black as it finshes the brew. When the coffee maker cools, it goes back to normal. I don't mind it as long as the display panel continues to work. I bought this model for its good reviews and its ability to make coffee with a timer.

This product has a built in defect which occurs about one out of every 15-20 times it is used. The nozzle that sprays the hot water over the coffee, at times will spray behind the paper filter, causing the filter to bend over the coffee with the water going behind the filter. This results in less water going through the coffee resulting in a very weak product. At first, I thought I had made a mistake with the paper filter. Even being careful, this happens about 3-4 times a month. I had the unit over 30 days before I realized it wasn't my fault. Too late to return it.

This coffee maker is great. It's very easy to program all the features this coffee maker offers. It makes a hot cup of coffee and keeps it that way. Definitely would recommend this after years of various Mr Coffee makers.

I can't get out of bed in the morning without knowing that I have a hot pot of coffee waiting for me in the kitchen. With the Oster Counterforms, I know that it will be ready, it will be strong, and it will be HOT!
The design on the Oster is absolutely perfect - when loading water into the caraf it doesn't spill everywhere (like some other, more expensive coffeemakers I've had). It's not as small as it looks - it's not wide, but it is deep, it fits perfectly under my cabinets. My favorite feature of the coffeemaker is that you can set how hot you want the plate to be. I set mine on full, and even at 2 hours since brew (which is when it turns off) my coffee is still piping hot! The only thing I can see being an issue is how bright the blue display is: it is very very bright all the time. I actually like that its bright - when I get up in the middle of the night for a glass of water I don't have to turn the kitchen light on, that is just how bright it is!
All in all, a great coffeemaker. Let's be honest, most coffeemakers don't last a year, and I wouldn't be shocked if this one started flaking out on me eventually too. But I just hope that if and when it does, they are still making this model so I can buy it again! Especially at this price - I paid twice as much and I still think I got a deal!
