4 out of 5 stars Good, Bad and Ugly (Okay it's not ugly)   August 26, 2008
Lee J. Mortier (Sonora, Ca United States)
The good is it is exactly what I had been looking for. I have never had a "Toaster" that worked well. This appliance does great.

The bad is that the instructions are terrible. We had to figure out how the thing works by trial and error (not to difficult). Also, it is a pain to clean

1 out of 5 stars glass exploded after three years of light use   August 18, 2008

I bought this unit in November 2005. I thought I would use the oven features often, but it just hasn't worked out that way. I mainly use this for toast on the weekends. I haven't been unhappy with it, but for just toast I could have spent a lot less than 200 dollars. Last weekend, my husband made toast it it, and when he opened the glass door, it shattered into a million pieces. It sounded like an explosion!! On the plus side, cuisinart customer service seems reasonable. They are sending me a new unit, but I have to pay shipping and handling to send the broken one back. Also, the warranty is only three years from date of manufacture, unless you can prove the exact date you bought it. Thank God that Amazon saves your orders so I did have proof of when I bought it. Who saves receipts for three years???? I'm kinda wondering why I would want another of the same unit that exploded on me in less than three years of light use, though.

5 out of 5 stars Read the manual - you'll love this product   August 15, 2008

Rated high and did not disappoint. Highly recommend reading the manual to set tray different uses. Bagels, english muffins and toast have all come out perfectly. Baked brownies on convection - aok. That's it so far.

5 out of 5 stars Superb from Cuisinart   August 12, 2008

We had been using an older toaster oven, and firing up the big oven more often than we wanted, but this item is fantastic. We haven't used the main oven in our kitchen since buying this. Takes a little reading of the instruction manual to get it all down before starting, but well worth the investment of time. We had seen that Consumer Reports ranked this the highest model, regardless of price and the deal on Amazon was too good to pass up.

I've had this product for over a year and still love it. It provides enough oven space to cook for two and has virtually eliminated the need for me to heat up the "big oven" in my kitchen. Using it with a cooking stone (the Bar Stone from Pampered Chef) creates the perfect combination for meats, bread, cookies etc. I like mine so much I bought one for my daughter & family.
