GREAT WAFFLES AND FEATURES June 29, 2008 Paula S. (Seattle Washington) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this waffle maker for about 9 months now so decided I have used it enough to give a review. My waffles turn out great every time so that is the most important point. After one waffle you know how long to cook them to your taste. The features I like on the Krupp's are.....1. I have always had good luck with this brand and am not disappointed. 2. I love that the cook plates come out and I can put them into the dishwasher or sink. 3. I like that the handle folds down for storage and 4. I like the drip plate and that it is also removable. This is a heavy well make product in my opinion.
They thought of everything. June 27, 2008 V. Moore (NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My family loves waffles. My school-aged children love to say that anyday there is a test they get a waffle breakfast because teachers always say to eat well before a test! We had a small typical waffle maker that was difficult to clean and made small waffles. As the girls aged there were more and more tests so I wanted a waffle maker that was easy to clean. No store carried anything close to what I was looking for, Amazon.com did! I was put off because it only makes two waffles at a time, and we always made four at once. But I loved the sound of the removeable plates for cleaning. I ordered the Krups and what a joy! It does only makes two waffles but they are huge! So large that each girl can only eat one. They even cook faster than the four did in the cheap maker. One of my girls likes light waffles and the other likes them crisp. The easy control knob makes this possible without opening and peeking a million times! The removeable plates make cleanup so easy. I just put them in my dishwasher. When the girls make their own waffles (and this maker is easy enough for a 10 and 12 year old to operate) they never fail to spill waffle batter from overfilling. This is also easy to clean thanks to the tray under the unit. The makers did an excellent job thinking of everything. The handle even folds down for easy storing. I am very happy with this waffle maker and I know I will continue to purchase products from this company. Friends have remarked that the unit has the feel and appearance of a professional restaurant appliance. It is a solid unit that works beautifully. I highly recommend this product. Oh, and since this is such an easy clean-up we have waffles any morning now, not just on testing days!
Fun to use and easy to clean June 24, 2008 Carol A. Johnson (Folsom, CA United States) I had a hard time choosing between this model and the Pro Waring my mother has that I use when I visit her. I chose this one based on better reviews and the fact that it has the removable plates. This iron cleans up so easily with a damp cloth that I can't imagine ever needing to remove the plates. It is nice to get 2 waffles at the same time for my husband and I to eat together, but the round one you get from the Pro Waring could also be split. This unit does not come with a measuring cup like the Pro Waring, but after the first use, you can easily figure out how much batter to put into it to avoid major overflow.
WaffleLicious June 21, 2008 S. Hurst (Oregon) We made waffles for 150 employees at 4 thank you breakfasts. The Krups was by far the favorite baker of the bunch. It worked great, turning out golden waffles. The design and the drip tray made clean up a breeze. The extension of the non-stick coating on the outside of the removeable grids, along with the lip to keep drips from hitting the rest of the machine is great engineering. I highly recommend this item.
Authentic Liege Belgian Waffler BUT Uneven Browning June 19, 2008 Adam W. (Washington, DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
PROS: - Attractive brushed steel design. - Adjustable heat setting. - This waffle maker comes as close as you can get to true Liege (Belgian sugar waffles ~ not to be confused with regular Belgian waffles) waffle irons. CONS: - Uneven browning. The two waffle sections cook at different rates. It's bad enough to leave one undercooked or overcooked, when the other is "just right". - No built-in timer. So, if you only plan on making one waffle at a time, then it's an awesome machine. Otherwise, I would skip it in favor of something like the Presto 03510, which browns evenly (even though it lacks adjustable heat settings).
