5 out of 5 stars Makes Waffles   May 14, 2008
Tom Corwin
The Farmyard aspect of this waffler was intended for my grandchildren. The main thing is that it works the way it's supposed to and there are settings for darkness and lightness that enable one to make waffles exactly as light or dark as desired. Lights that go on and audible beeps make using this waffler almost foolproof.

great and quick. This is a great product and my little girl loves the animals. It works the same on every waffle.

Well, ya, we like it. But to be honest we don't actually use it ourselves. . .a good friend does who is a gourmet cook. That's how we got the waffler in the first place. . . she ordered the wrong model. My wife and I were unable to resist the idea of cute little animals appearing on our plate as waffles, so instead of returning it, we kept it. Now, implicit here is the notion that VillaWare irons are for experienced combat pilots. You need to know what you're doing when you make the batter and when you run the iron. So, if you understand waffle batter and you like little animal-shaped waffles on your plate, this might well be the machine for you. As regards the product itself: it's good and sturdy and looks like something that will last a long time.

4 out of 5 stars Something fun for breakfast   July 20, 2007

I've owned this waffle maker for about 4 years and I use it almost weekly. I've enjoyed it very much and always had good results until recently. I've always used the top heat setting - 7 - for crispy exteriors, but it's become too hot and burns the non-stick spray I use to prep the surface. The timer has also stopped working, making doneness a guessing game. I still give the product 4 stars becuase it did perform like a pro for 4 years.

I love this waffle iron! A friend of mine had one and Amazon had the best price on the internet - it did not disappoint. It works great - it signals you when it's heated, signals you when the waffles are done and the non-stick surface is a dream to clean up. Best purchase I have made in a while.
