5 out of 5 stars Cuisinart 6-Slice Waffle Iron   February 29, 2008

I love my Cuisinart WAF-6 Waffle Iron, so much so-that I bought 2 of them! We are really into 100% whole wheat waffles with fresh fruit on top. I use two irons at once just so I can speed up the process. I make different ingredients per batch for the kids (nuts, extract, spices, chopped fruits). Not everyone likes the same, so when I do break out the irons (about 1 or 2 days a month) I cook, ziploc bag each one separately, write flavor on bag, then freeze. The kids grab one they like and put them in the toaster. They even eat them without syrup - like a cookie. ***A little TIP: Do NOT refrigerate whole wheat, it becomes rubbery within hours. From freezer to toaster is best.

We are very happy with the 6 waffle maker by Cuisinart. It will serve my family well.

The plates are not removable, buyer beware! It is really hard to clean this "non stick" waffle maker. If I had known any better I would have bought a waffle iron with removable plates that I could just throw in the dish washer.

The waffle maker makes waffles just fine but it is really a hassle to clean. I don't understand why the company did not make the waffle plates snap out so you can throw them in the dishwasher. The cleanup actually deters my husband and I from using it. I would not have bought it if I had known the plates were not removeable.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad...   January 13, 2008

I read all the reviews and decided to try this waffle iron for my husband. The first time we used it, it made a mess. Batter leaked out everywhere, especially in front, which ran down into the control dial. Not a very good design there. We had to use a toothpick to get batter out of the dial and from the trim around the sides. The second time we used less batter, making our waffles thinner, and did better, but some still oozed out. Overall, it works well.
