Product Description Create Asian style salads and dramatic vegetable garnishes with Joyce Chen's Spiral Slicer. One setting makes paper-thin slices while the other produces clouds of spaghetti-like strands. It also makes julienne strips and half rounds for a variety of dishes. The slicer, with its stainless steel blades, is dishwasher safe.

Useless September 30, 2008 Cutless The Joyce Chen spiral slicer is useless. It worked great for a week, cutting zuchini, onions, carrots, potatoes, and any other solid vegetable. After week 1, the handle spun around, while the food sat motionless. I'll stick to my Cutco knives.
Great Product September 20, 2008 Desktop Music, LLC (Pleasant Valley, CT) We first bought this product to make raw zucchini angel hair pasta and other raw food dishes! It works great for that and many other things. We use it to make great spiral carrots and cucumber for salads and much more. Clean up is not bad but you do have to be careful because the blade is sharp. Highly recommended!
Spiral slicer thin on range of use September 15, 2008 Julianne Wilson (GA United States) I think the idea of this product is better than the reality. It DOES do a great job of spiral-cutting hard veggies - zucchini and potatoes, in particular. It does not do well, in my experience, with onions, eggplant, carrots (hard but wrong shape). So, I am disappointed in the range of vegetables with which it can be used. It does clean easily - a definite plus. It also takes a fair amount of "elbow grease" to make it work -- but I rather like that. (Although, if you're doing spiral hash browns for 10 people or more, start early or recruit help!) I am going to try other veggies - raw beets, turnips, sweet potatoes ... those will likely work well. Cucumbers do ok, if they are REALLY fresh .... but be prepared to eat in a day whatever cucumbers you cut this way, as the high degree of exposed flesh of the cukes will have them getting mushy after 24 hours. Also, keep in mind when cooking that things like zucchini, once spiraled, will cook VERY quickly and are much better a bit al dente....otherwise they get soft and you lose the beauty of the spirals. Raw, the zucchini spiraled in a salad is delicious, too.
Spiralizerrrr! September 8, 2008 Johnna Medina Great product, works perfectly! just a little bit expensive for what it is. but other then that, I am so happy with it!
More Diverse than you Might Think September 8, 2008 Betsey A. Batchelor (Philadelphia, PA USA) I bought this to enhance food preparation for my experimentation with a raw foods diet. I read the reviews on Amazon before purchasing and I am glad I bought it in spite of some reviews stating it's limitations. I have found it to be an excellent tool for cutting raw beets (yum), daikon, cucumber, and zucchini. I plan to try it on yams and carrots as well. Vegetables cut in a different way really do alter the taste. Zucchini cut on this is a wonderful substitute for pasta, great for someone with celiac, someone watching carbohydrates or calories. It has two settings, one that makes a continuous wider slice that looks ruffled and one that looks like vermicelli. I recommend this highly.
