Product Description INDICATIONS: Jumbo rice cooker for party-size quantities of rice. Includes automatic switch-off when rice is finished. Nonstick interior simplifies cleanup and reduces sticky residue. Stainless lid; 1-touch operation; power indicator lamp.
Amazon.com Review Simple and reliable, this massive rice cooker from Panasonic makes perfect rice on a scale for parties, buffets, and large family gatherings. Easy to use and no-nonsense, the cooker includes a built-in thermostat for precise control and switches off automatically when rice is finished cooking. Its body is durable yet lightweight, and the inner pan is coated with a nonstick layer to keep rice from sticking and simplify clean up. At full capacity, the machine can handle 23 cups of uncooked rice, turning out three times that much cooked rice. Keep in mind, though, that it is standard with rice cookers to measure this amount with the included measuring cup, which holds about 6 ounces. Operating the cooker is very straightforward. It includes only one function switch and an illuminated indicator lamp to let you know that it is on. The lid is stainless steel with a built-in steam hole, and the handles are plastic to stay cool. Note that this rice cooker does not have a "keep warm" setting, though Panasonic does include a thermal fuse to cut power if the unit is overheating. --Emily Bedard
