5 out of 5 stars Works great. Read the manual.   May 15, 2008

Works great, just like everyone has said. One heads-up: the lithium battery that keeps the clock running is not supposed to be replaceable by customer, the instructions say to take it to the authorized service facility.
I hope that battery lasts a long, long time. I'm not at all for spending a couple of dozen dollars for some $2 dollar battery by having to send it off somewhere and having to pay for some technician to unscrew a couple of screws. Hopefully it won't be hard to DIY.

5 out of 5 stars best in the market, after I try so many   May 11, 2008

Knew this product from a friends house, I love it, simple to use, no complicated, and great rice, I am from Peru and we eat rice every day, I cook it every day or once a week for all the week, and tastes like is fresh.
Enjoy it, buy it now!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect rice   May 8, 2008
H. M. Oster (Austin, TX)
This rice cooker does a great job with brown and white rice - I have not tried the other features yet. It's a little complicated to figure out how to work beyond the pre-sets, which take extra time, but the texture of the finished product is wonderful. Be sure to rinse your rice well before cooking.

5 out of 5 stars Maces great rice and plays music too!   May 2, 2008

We use this all the time. Makes great rice. Reheats rice perfectly. Makes all kinds of rice. Keeps it perfect for HOURS. We also use it for oatmeal and other whole grain cereals. Wake up to perfect oatmeal; yummy. It is incredibly easy to use and program, and, it a perfectly quirky Oriental way, it plays catchy little ditties when the rice is done.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent small rice cooker   April 17, 2008

I purchased the Panasonic SR-NA-10 unit as a replacement for a National SR-EA-10N that was destroyed by an extreme electrical power surge at my home. The National unit was made in Japan and a very solid performer making excellent rice if a somewhat basic fuzzy logic design. I selected the Panasonic unit as a replacement because it appeared to be the model most similar to my old cooker and I wasn't disappointed.

It has more features, is a bit smaller outside and cooks more types of rice using its own logic. I have been quite satisfied with both white and brown rice results to date although it takes quite a bit longer to cook than the old unit did. The quick cook selection is fast and produces results close to the National unit. The only complaint I have with the unit is that it is difficult to see the exact water level inside the dark pan and it is important to get it right for good rice. The price of the Panasonic unit is much less than I paid for the old model several years ago, so all considered it is an excellent product for the money and produces very good rice, both white and brown.

It is now plugged into a surge protector as everything connected through surge protectors survived the high energy surge that destroyed the transformer on the power pole.
