Expensive citric acid July 13, 2008 chobo (chobo) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is just citric acid. 1oz of citric acid for 2 bucks?? - You can get citric acid at a cheaper price elsewhere!
Clean like magic - but pricey May 7, 2008 Mimi (Castro Valley, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This citirc acid cleaner cleans very well for my Zojirushi Electric Dispensing Pot, CD-JSC30, 3.0 liters. The instruction said to use 3 packs to clean a 3.0 liters pot every 6 months. That means each cleaning will cost me $6 which is not cheap. So, I only used 1 pack and it removed all the mineral built-ups. However, I've noticed the built-ups come back after a month. I wonder if I use 3 packs, will it remain clean for 6 months?
Excellent cleaner April 28, 2008 R. Glover (Portland, Maine United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've just cleaned the Zojirushi boiler for the first time in the three months since purchasing it and the results were excellent. I did check with customer service first because the instructions in the manual and on the ADC-05 cleaner package are conflicting. The package says to use one pack per liter of water and since it is a 4 liter boiler that seemed like a lot of cleaner. Customer service said to disregard that information and follow the instructions in the manual which says to use just one pack of cleaner.
this product is awesome! April 2, 2008 L. Yang 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
i just used this to clean my pot. my pot was in a sorry state, with bits of i don't know what floating down at the bottle. the instructions were simple and clear, very easy to follow. when it was all done, i had a pot that was so clean that the last time i saw it this way it must've been brand new.

Unlike another reviewer, I read the product description before ordering and expected to use four packages for my 4L Zo water dispenser. Hoping that this was just worst case planning on the manufacturer's part I used only two packages for the cleaning process and it worked perfectly. Of course your results may vary but our local city water is pumped from the ground and scale starts to show in the pot after about three months. So my cleaning/descaling experiment was at the recommended six months for hard water. Some of you out there may be bristling at the idea of paying four bucks to clean a pot that just boils water but given the initial investment and what it would cost to use demineralized water I consider it a bargain.
