Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Induction Heating System Rice Cooker & Warmer uses a high-tech Induction Heating (IH) method to heat the inner cooking pan. Because of this heating method, rice cooks exceptionally well. This IH Rice Cooker also features easy-to-clean clear-coated stainless steel exterior, healthy cooking options such as brown rice, GABA BROWN and germinated brown rice settings, and an interchangeable melody and beep signal. GABA BROWN is a way of cooking brown rice to ?activate? it and increase naturally occurring gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an amino acid in brown rice believed to have health giving properties such as lowering blood pressure, improving kidney function and relieving stress. The brown rice is ?activated? by soaking the rice at 104 F for 2 hours before the actual cooking begins. Other features include automatic keep warm, extra large LCD display for Clock and Timer functions and detachable inner lid.

5 out of 5 stars This cooker is beyond awesome...   May 1, 2008

I was first intrigued when almost EVERYONE gave this product a glowing 5-star review. (The statistics were similar for the companion models.) Still, I was skeptical, but interested enough to invest the rather steep cost to get this model.

WOW. It is an awesome rice cooker. I've never tasted rice like this, and I've had a lot of rice over the years. It's delicious, it's soft, it's flavorful, in short - it's PERFECT. And it's easy to use and foolproof. The GABA rice is superb. Yes, it takes 3.5 hours, but that's because there is a 2 hour "soaking" at 104 degrees before the cooking begins. It's worth the wait. It prepares the best brown rice I ever tasted.

The only wish item is the timer. It doesn't "count down." If you want rice in, say, 6 hours, it shows "6" hours but doesn't count down the time as time passes. That's kinda strange, but I can live with this since the rice is great. Did I say, it's perfect?

It seemed like a risk because of the price, but this is an excellent (really excellent) rice cooker. My wife sets the timer at night and each morning when we get up, this little baby has perfect rice all ready for us.

I was in Japan last year visiting my family. I then went to visit an electric store to look for a rice cooker to bring it back to the USA. I did an extensive research by going around talking to experts on these rice cookers who are marketing them. BOY OH BOY there were TONS of them to choose from. Unfortunately, I could not buy anyone since I found out that the electricity would not match....I was heart broken since I enjoy rice meal everyday as a Japanese native living in the USA. When I came back to the USA, I had such a hard time locating what I have seen in Japan and gave up in the end buying some cheap kind. OKEY, few years later, these HIGH quality rice cooker hit the US market~!! Now its all over the place~!! And and.....I found this product made to be used in the USA~! I bought it in heart beat, the performance and design is far exceeding my expectation. DOMO ARIGATO~!!!!!! Finally available in the USA~!!!! Highly recommended. You would not regret, and has a hell of rice cooker for years to enjoy. It even comes with a factory warranty. Super good deal~! Well worth the price~!!!!

I just retired the Zojirushi rice cooker I was given by my mother over 10 years ago which she used. This is a worthy replacement. It is even better with the multiple settings than the one button. (you know what I'm talking about) But face it, guys aren't supposed to be into appliances but I can't stop thinking this is sweet looking every time. A cool thing is the clock is already set when you get it. It has a battery. I thought it was a sticker at first and tried peeling around the display. (Don't be mean) Yeah it really is expensive but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. After the previous Zojirushi's track record I am brand loyal. If you eat rice frequently and have a small family you won't be disappointed by any of their rice cookers, but this will be the best looking one in the family.
