1 out of 5 stars short life   July 2, 2008

This scale only lasted three months! I bought new batteries thinking that was the problem ($11.00 for the required 2), nope!!
But it did work well while it lasted!! I liked it.... but now I'm going back to analog!

5 out of 5 stars Health o Meter HDL110KD-95 Digital Scale, Silver Metallic with Soft Black Mat   April 8, 2008

Pleased with the product. Put it to test as soon as I got it and had no problems with it since then. Read that you had to slight tap it to turn on but maybe it will help to pull out the tags that come in the back of the batteries to activate them. After doing that, all you really have to do is tap it lightly and it will turn on and give you the weight as it states as a few pounds off your weight as you would get at the doctors office.

I received this product and immediately put it to use.It worked great!
Simple to use and nice size digital numbers.I didn't want a complicated product that saved weights and calculated body fat. This was it.Unfortunately in my excitement I through the box away.I went to weigh myself one morning , and the scale did not work. This is a week after receiving it.I ran out and bought new batteries thinking that maybe they were the problem. Not a chance.
My saga continues. The product was sent to Sunbeam to hopefully be repaired or better yet replaced.I'm hopeful that maybe I just got a lemon.I really did like the scale, and can't wait to get it back.

5 out of 5 stars Big beautiful readout   June 1, 2007

For the money, this is a very good scale. Weight is measured in tenths of a pound and the readout is in HUGE numbers. Seems accurate, so easy to use!

4 out of 5 stars Nice scale for the money   May 23, 2007

I replaced a mechanical Health o Meter with this electronic version. It's much wider and lighter than I expected it to be. Yes, you do have to tap the corner to turn it on and wait a couple of seconds for it to "calibrate" itself. Then you have to wait a couple of more seconds for it to show your weight after you step on it. So what? If you're in that big a hurry, buy the instant read mechanical scale.

I have only two misgivings about the scale. First, it doesn't stay on long enough. Within 5 seconds after it calibrates, or after you step off the scale, it turns off. If you wait more than those few seconds to step on it, it turns off. You then have to go through the start up process again. It would be nice if it stayed on longer, maybe 60 seconds or so. Second, if you have ANY kind of stomach at all, like, YOU'RE A FAT PERSON, you have to lean way over to see the scale. It gets hidden by your bulging stomach. Elongating the scale would solve that problem. Yeah, I know, so would being skinny.

All in all, a functional and useful product. I recommend it for almost everyone (except really fat people).
