The tape measure itself is fine. It has a push button to release the tape (You can pull it without the release, however it clicks every 2" or so, as it has a lock-in feature as well.) and to rewind it when you're done using it.
My issue is that mine didn't come with the metal covered pull tab that is pictured, it came with a flimsy, bulky, plastic loop and it has actually torn through and away from the tape itself. Meaning, I have to leave 1 -2" hanging out, to be able to grasp the end and use it, or I'll end up buying a new one. It's a little disappointing seeing as how it's only been used roughly 3 times a week since the middle of January (Until I noticed the tear, end of March).

This tape measure is functional and compact. Also has a button on top for quick retraction. Good for simple measurements.
