Fidgety baby = Bad readings October 7, 2008 Yutaka Takagi (Los Angeles, CA) I'm not sure the makers actually tried putting a live baby on this scale, because any time our baby moves, the numbers jump around +/- 4 ounces. When you're feeding the baby about 4 ounces and want to verify the feed, that margin of error is killer. It may be fine of you're going to weigh a baby once a month, but it's no where near accurate enough to verify milk intake on a daily basis.
good but not totally precise pet scale September 26, 2008 CMB (Salem, Oregon) Like some other reviewers, I bought this as a pet scale (for my miniature dachshunds). They both stepped onto it willingly. However (and I might add just like at the scale at my vet's, which I'm sure cost a lot more) as they don't hold totally still the reading keeps fluctuating. This works fine as a ballpark, which is enough for my needs (I need to make sure my girl is gaining some weight and my boy isn't), but if you need a really precise or exact weight I think it would be difficult to get on this scale with either pets or babies -- unless you are somehow able to immobilize them on the scale.
GREAT PRODUCT September 19, 2008 J. Fletcher (Peoria, IL) Great baby scale for the price. My daughter has twin girls and uses it to make sure the babies are getting enough breastmilk and monitor their weight. Does not take up alot of room and can easily stored under the dresser if needed.
Inconsistent September 17, 2008 Nikkie (Chicago, IL) I purchased this to weigh my cat who is on a diet. She needs to lose about an ounce a week, so I was glad that this weighed in half ounce increments. The issue I have is that I'm not sure if I trust the weight provided. I weighed her once and she was 9 lbs. 9 oz, and then a half hour later she was 9 lbs. 10 oz. In normal circumstances I would say it's good enough, but when I'm supposed to track by ounce and modify her diet based on what works, it's a bit tough.
Good deal April 21, 2008 J. Milliner (North Jackson, OH) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Not consistantly accurate, but in the ball park - good product for the price. I use it for my cats and dogs and didn't want to pay a fortune.
