Product Description Keep your cakes in shape with this square silicone cake pan from KitchenAid. It is made of FDA-approved silicone, which is flexible, Heat resistant to 500 and safe to use in the oven, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. It also has a quick-release permanent nonstick surface that heats and cools quickly and evenly. Imported. 2Hx9Wx9L”.
Amazon.com Review One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it's actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this 9-by-9-inch square cake pan bakes your prize-winning fudge brownies just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases brownies easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. Oversized rims make the pan easy to lift and transfer to and from from the oven. The only noticeable difference with silicone is that the pans feel a little wobbly as you carry them filled with batter from tabletop to oven and vice versa. Placing this cake pan on a baking sheet will offer better stability for transferring baked goods and provide a level cooking surface in the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. KitchenAid provides a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty plus a lifetime limited warranty on this pan. --Cristina Vaamonde

My first silicone bakeware experience is OK. June 9, 2007 City Girl Pan arrived today. Washed it, sprayed with canola oil, and baked Marie Calendar's "instant" corn bread in my toaster oven. Put this pan on a baking tray for support. Lowered the temperature by 25 deg. The recipe said bake 30-35 min, and it was ready in 30 minutes. Slight sticking when I attempted to invert the pan, so I cut the pieces with nylon spatula while still in the pan. No sticking this way. The silicone did emit a slight odor when baking.
Works well April 28, 2007 OWEN (OVERLAND PARK, KS) Pros: Cooks evenly, No issues. Cons: Can't take a chainsaw to it when I have to cut out my brownies. For some reason, it cuts through the pan (see other reviewer).
One flaw April 17, 2006 M. Childress (NYC) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
These silicone baking dishes are great except for one flaw that can be major or minor depending on your personal use: You can't cut anything in these pans. If you like to make brownies and cut them while they are still in the pan, forget it with these, because the knife will cut right through the pan.
Works great May 30, 2005 L. Edwards (Vancouver, WA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was hesitant to try this after reading the negative reviews however, I gave it a try and I'm glad I did. I made brownies and they turned out great. No bad smell or stick. I followed the directions of spraying the pan lightly and let them cool before release. They came out without any problems or stick and the pan was very easy to clean up. I will continue to use this a while longer before I invest in the purchase of other pans but I am so tired of spending good money on pans that claim to be nonstick and don't discolor that I just had to give this a try. So far I would recommend this. I will write another review later if I should run into problems and change my mind but so far so good. Hope this helps.
Works Great November 15, 2004 Priscilla (Plano, TX) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this before reading the mixed reviews on the many KitchenAid silicone items. I thought about returning it after reading about how food sticks and the plastic smell while cooking. There were other reviews, however, that were just the opposite. I sprayed the Cake Pan with a non-stick spray pryor to use and the Cake Pan worked beautifully. There was no sticking nor was there any plastic smell. I think the key is the non-stick spray. I believe that the bad reviews related to those not using a non-stick spray - with or without flour. I cooked Brownies and decided to remove the Brownies from the Cake Pan before cutting. I reduced the rating by one star because I don't think the soft silicone is "knife friendly".
