Amazon.com Review
One look at this rubbery bakeware and those uninformed about silicone will laugh at the possibility that it's actually safe to bake in it. But safe it is and KitchenAid is just one of many bakeware manufacturers that is producing pans in this revolutionary material. Made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone, this muffin pan bakes 12 sweet potato-nut muffins just as evenly as your metal pans and at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, this silicone pan has the benefit of being safe for the refrigerator, freezer, and microwave and can withstand sudden temperature changes from one extreme to another without buckling. The nonstick surface releases muffins easily and is safe for use with metal utensils aside from knives or serrated blades. This muffin pan rests in a nonstick metal wire sled with handles, which offers good stability for transferring baked goods in and out of the oven. For easy cleanup, this pan is dishwasher-safe and will retain its nonstick cooking surface through hundreds of dishwasher cycles. The metal sled should be washed by hand. KitchenAid provides a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty plus a lifetime limited warranty on this pan. --Cristina Vaamonde

1 out of 5 stars Not happy with it   April 29, 2007

My cupcakes broke while removing them. The sturdy wire sleigh holds the fussy little silicone piece well but I felt a need to set it on a cookie sheet rather than risk scrubbing a mess up later. I will not buy other silicone baking products, based on my experience with this one and this one will eventually go out in a yardsale.

Works like magic. Bakes muffins perfectly without burning them (amazing for me). Muffins came out very easily after cooling for a couple of minutes. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars So easy to clean!   March 10, 2007

My major complaint with standard muffin tins were that after a while, inevitably, they would become rusted, probably from running them through the dishwasher. Plus, I'd always find myself picking stuck-on debris off the inside of the cups after the wash cycle. These new silicone pans are awesome. They wash well in the dishwasher (though they do flop over in there and take up more room than necessary,) and they're a breeze to clean by just swiping a sponge over them. The sled is mandatory, as the pan wouldn't hold its shape without one. Easy storage, too. I'm going to purchase more for gifts.

Love it and use it often the only concern I have is using the wire rack to was too wide to set two side by side in my oven.

5 out of 5 stars Great Muffin Pan!   November 10, 2006

I love this muffin pan! There is no need to grease it, and the muffins come out beautifully - nothing sticks!

This is my first silicon bakeware purchase - I was hesitant to buy silicon for a long time - I'm always suspicious of "weird chemical stuff". But then I figured - teflon is a controvercial chemical too, and I use it all the time, so why not give silicon a try. And I'm glad I did!

There was no weird smells or aftertaste, the muffins were absolutely normal. Also, the wire sled makes it really easy to put this pan in and out of the oven. To wash this pan, I just stick it in the dishwasher - so easy!

I am now using this muffin pan all the time, and my old teflon muffin pan is gathering dust. No more greasing, paper liners and hand-washing!
